DJ`s-Are they really that much?

Can any of you ladies recommend a DJ to me that you have personally heard at another function and are using now for your wedding? We are looking to spend no more than $1000 if possible. Thanks so much, any suggestions would be appreiciated. Happy planning!

I have heard of DJ's that cost more or less than $1000. My DJ is from NJ. He was good. My friend's DJ is from Queens and he was less than $1000. If interested I will get the phone #'s.

Really we are using Mikey Mike in Feburary of 2002 and we were quoted double the price. What are you getting for the 1000? Just curious.

My wedding is this year and maybe you were quoted that price for your wedding next year, I just want your basic DJ and lite show and I've seen them less then that...we don't want the party favors and stuff.

Less than $700.00

We used QT Productions. They came highly recommended from co-workers of my cousins and they turned out great. I loved them. I was a little weary at first because they were so much cheaper than everyone else, but there was no difference in performance. I would recommend them to anyone. He has a link on this site

We were seriously considering Variety Music. They`re in line with your budget and seemed very good. No, we`ve never actually heard them (though we did see a video), but you might want to at least check into them. Mikey Mike is a preferred vendor of Leonards and I was also quoted about $1600 for only reception. Very basic. Mike himself also called me about 8-10 times trying to persuade me to use him and putting down other djs. He was very nice but I just wasn't interested. A little annoying.

I know that djs vary in price depending on what you want included and your individual taste. I was just wondering why Jen was saying that Mikey Mike was in the $1000 range. I was just curious what she was getting for $1000 and starting to think we should have barginned lower.

Hi, I met with 2 DJ's so far..and we liked In the Mix..we met with Danny and he was really nice..and he offered us a package that consisted of ure basic light show..ceremony,cocktail hour and reception music and a half a crate of give outs for $1400.
