DJ shopping tonight. Need help!

I have a meeting with my first vendor (other than my reception hall) tonight! I was wondering what a 'good' price for a dj is. I really have no idea how much this stuff costs. It will be for the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the four hour reception. FM me if you don't feel comfortable stating prices. Thank you soooo much!!

I got a bilingual DJ for $900, with a $200 deposit and the rest after the reception. HTH

Depends on what you want, but for a good DJ & MC you are looking around $2,000.

I am paying 2000 for 6hrs, includes, Dj/MC, ceremony music, CH and reception

Good luck. NOt sure if they will quote you present prices or 2008.

Also be prepared to fork over 1000 deposit. That is the main reason why I have waited till recently to book my DJ. I booked my photo and video first, since those were important to me, so then I could figure out my budget for DJ and flowers, etc

you could get a good DJ for under $1000. it all depends if you want an MC or not and certain lighting, giveaways etc.

you should check out vinny from high voltage.

ETA it can go over $1000 if you get the whole nine.

DJ prices really vary. Some djs charge a lot of money while others don't. My dj was not expensive and still did an amazing job. It all depends on what you want. If you want lights, MC, giveaways you could easily be looking at paying over $2000.

I don't remember if I'm paying 1600 or 1800 for my DJ, but he's great! I'm getting a DJ and MC for 1 1/2 hrs cocktail hour and 4 hour reception. He's Steve from 'Then 'til Now'. He's great, nice, good voice, not 'in-your-face', classy, etc. I didn't want a 'KTU' wedding, so he was perfect for us.

we paid 3900.00 but we added ALOT on... they vary on price. good luck!

we're paying a little less than this, but not by much. the same thing though, we added on a lot. We are having live musicians as well as the DJ.
It totally depends on what you want.

Check out Vinny from High Voltage. His prices are amazing!!! And besides having the best prices around, he is so great to work with!!!!!!!!!!! He really listens to every bride and groom, and makes sure they are very happy! If you read his reviews, no one has anything bad to say about him. Good luck and keep us posted.
