Do I have to invite everyone to whom I sent a save the date?

We sent our save the dates in early January. Our wedding is the end of August. between then and now a lot has changed for me. My Dad passed away in teh end of February. What I want out of my wedding and who I want there has since changed. We're still going to have a large wedding, but there are just some people I would rather not invite -- mostly friends of mine that I have lost touch with since graduating law school last May and don't feel close to & probably won't see again. But is it terribly rude not to invite them at this point?

Also, if someone told us, after having recieved the STD, that they couldn't come to the wedding do I still send them an invite? I don't want it to look like we're just trying to get presents.

So sorry to hear about your father.

We sent an invite to everyone we sent a STD to, even if we knew they couldn't come.

I am sorry for the loss of your father, that must be very difficult. I think proper ettiqute will tell you that they MUST be invited. But at the end of the day the it's your call

im sorry for your loss I would say if you dont speak to these people, and dont plan to, then there is no need to send cards to them.
