Do I need to do more?

Hi, ladies,

Well, it's getting down to the wire now. We have beautiful pewter dragon bottle openers as our favors along with a donation to American Cancer Society in memory of our fathers. There's this little voice inside of me that keeps saying you need to do more (like placecard holders and/or chocolate bars). But then I think about it and it's not about all of this extra stuff; we're getting married!! It's about our love, not all the little stuff we give our guests. Don't get me wrong-I want them to have fun & enjoy themselves but do I really have to make myself crazy by giving myself more stuff to order & put together?

Just wanted to get this out because I've been making myself nuts the last few weeks debating over whether or not to do more.

Thats the only negative I have seen within this site... You feel like you should do more and go over the top and DIY everythingggg... You dont and you have to ask yourself 'will people actually miss this?' 'is it worth the extra stress and money?' If you have to think twice about it, chances are its not needed

everything sounds perfect. its not worth all the stress and aggravation. i learned that myself. not to sweat the small stuff.

yup. i totally agree. sometimes this site is BAD cause you see alllll the stuff other ppl are doing and you want to do the same or more!

you are doing enough--don't worry!

We personally did not do all those special touches, our only special touches was our aisle runner and cake table letter, to me its a waste to go crazy ont he little things.

I think that you have done enough, now give yourself time to enjoy yourself before the big day

You are fine. I went to a wedding recently and the favor was a donation only. The bride wrote her message on small scroll-like thing, rolled up and tied with a pretty ribbon. It just stated that a donation was made to the american cancer society on your behalf in honor of the groom's father. (he passed away from cancer)

It was lovely and we never thought for a second that there should have been more.

ETA: the info in parenthesis (he passed away from cancer) was not on the scroll! i just added that as background info for you guys!

You are so right! I will have to write that down somewhere so I can remind myself of it when I'm second guessing myself (which is bound to happen!)

Don't do more.

I don't care what you give as favors - people will never be as appreciative or impressed as you think and hope they will be. Your favors sound lovely. You don't need to waste any more time and money on something else.

We did full bottles of wine ($10 each), glass grape place card holders ($4 each), and a donation favor. People said it was a nice favor, but it's not like anyone was floored or something.

Seriously - you've done MORE than enough.

it is more than enough - most people just do favors and you are still giving your guests an additional favor - you are good to go! no more stressing!
