Re: Do most of the brides on here find themselves
my DH didn't do much at all! For the most part, I didn't mind, b/c I liked all the planning, but the one thing he was responsible for (limos) he completely screwed up! LOL

I am impressed if he over hears what has been planned and he gives out the right info to those who ask..

Re: Do most of the brides on here find themselves
Teri, it didnt bother me in the begining. But after the phone calls started and all the appts, enough was enough. He has now been assgned the RD, which he has made 1 phone call for, has no idea when the date is, and has no idea what to do. So Im going to sit back and enjoy this one.
Theres an old saying 'Before you get married, keep both eyes open. After you get married close 1 eye'
Know I know what it really means. LOl

Yeah, its nice to have all the control over the wedding, but I wonder can it really be that they have no idea what to do.

Re: Do most of the brides on here find themselves
Yeah - but I'm making him help. Make appointments for us to go to photographer, florist, etc. when I know he will be able to go too! As someone else said, it's OUR WEDDING. He keeps up with what's going on, and can tell someone the correct information if they ask.

Re: Do most of the brides on here find themselves
I feel like I could have written this post! I can totally relate. I try to give him little projects to work on and that usually keeps him on track. I also make sure that all appointments are times that he is available and he's pretty good about coming along, although I do get the 'whatever you want, dear' comment all the time!

Please my Fh does NOTHING. He gripes when I ask him to get me 5 addresses because the invites have to go out in 1 1/2 weeks. I told him to count his blessings that I have been able to do this on my own!
We did a few things 'together' which means I made the decision and then passed it by him for a final seal of approval. I know he'll appreciate it the day of- he's just not that type of planner/foward thinker.
As we get closer, I find he gets more excited.

Re: Do most of the brides on here find themselves
Girls, you are all lucky he is around to be a pain in the ass! My FH is in the Army and is overseas. I am doing all the planning by myself! I do have help from my mom, MOH, and my best friend, but I am the one making all the decisions, alone! I would give anything to have him here for the planning. You may think he is being a great big PIA, but you should be grateful he is here to be a great big PIA!!

Re: Do most of the brides on here find themselves
My FH has not lifted a finger. When it was time to register, he came with me to one of the three stores, then he told me to go home(we were in Florida, and I live in NY) and finish the rest. The when I'm asking for his families addresses to send invitations for our engagement party, he tells me to have my mother call up his and she will give out all the addresses.
If it wasn't for me, he wouldn't have a great wedding.

Re: Do most of the brides on here find themselves
So far I have been handling all the appointments and phone calls, but he does and will continue to attend all our meetings etc. I know I will be handling all the planning and he will kind of just be along for the ride, but honestly I wouldn't have it any other way. I like to be in control. Also, I am the enthusiasm police. I warned him that I will happily do all the work but I expect him to always sound excited about planning and never seem bothered by it. THAT would spell trouble. When I told him we are meeting with our first photographer this Sunday, he jumped in the air and screamed 'YES!' He likes to humor me!

Re: Do most of the brides on here find themselves
I consider myself very lucky because FH has been invovled in the planning all the way (except for dresses!). I wouldn't want it any other way, though I am unofficially the one who makes the phone calls (like with everything else...FH is painfully shy!)Welcome New Vendors
