Fh and I were making a list of songs for the e-party and he told me I needed to stop putting songs on the list b/c the DJ needs to put his own. . . I was like uhm, NO! It's OUR party, it's OUR songs!

I want EVERYONE to have a good time so I dont think I'll impose a do not play/have to play list. When I find the dj I want, I'll have faith in him to keep the party going!

Our DJ is so amazing! He gave us a list of 'Corny Audience Participation Songs' and he will ABSOLUTELY NOT play any of those songs unless we write which ones we want in the contract - which i think is amazing - the list contains songs like Cha Cha Slide, Chicken Dance, Any Conga Line Songs, Cotton Eyed Joe, Dancing Queen, Dollar Song, Electric Slide, Greased Lightening, Hands Up, Hokey Pokey, Limbo, Macarena, Mambo #5, Shout, Thong Song, Any Twist Songs, Who Let The Dogs Out, YMCA. Thank God - I really do think that by putting all of these in the contract that they wont be played will turn our celebration into a Wedding and not a Sweet 16 re-run or Prom. He's Spin Around Sound - AMAZING!! If you haven't checked out DJs yet - Definately meet with Tom!

I have to think about this. FMIL actually loves the electric slide, as long as I don't have to do it, its fine. Why the heck does it have to be the longest song EVER! Maybe the DJ has a short version and the old ladies can have their fun for a moment.

I am with you on this. I always have a blast dancing to songs like Cotton Eye Joe and Cha Cha Slide. I want to try to play a little of everything.
And as for country... there's a few songs I like and want played.
I think the do not play list is going to be fairly short. I will trust my DJ to keep the dance floor packed.

i always have fun when the cha cha slide comes on... iwill def have that one played but the chicken dance nooooo... maybe some other songs not to sure

Just be careful, I had a very short do not play list/play list...I had complete faith in my DJ-he is the professional I was not. The electric slide and cotton eyed joe got EVERYONE out of their seats and they stayed. Im not saying play them im just saying I wouldnt cut them ALL out

I WILL NOT PALY ANY OTHER LINE DANCE EXCEPT FOR THE ELECTRIC SLIDE TO THE HUSTLE. ONLY CAUSE FH WANTS THAT ONE. WHATEVER! But i swear if i even hear a little of HOT HOT HOT ILL THROW UP!
