DO PEOPLE STILL THROW BOUQUET??

IS THSI STILL DONE? OR IS THIS LIKE TOTALLY 80'S? I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO.

I think it depends - we decided to do the anniversary dance instead. There are probably only a handful of single ladies left at my wedding - and they would prob be embarassed to get up and fight over the bouquet because there is so few of them!

we aren't throwing anything...we may do the anniversary dance, but we aren't sure.

we did the bouquet and garter toss.....it's up to the couple and the people at the wedding - if you know there are not going to be many single people, it's really not worth it....becasue then it might get embarassing.

We are going to do the anniversary dance as well. I have never liked going up for the bouquet toss.

I am stealing this idea from my friends wedding.

She called up all the married ladies. She threw the bouquet. Whoever caught it stepped aside.

The the groom took the garter off the brides leg.

They then called up all the married men. He threw it out to the crowd.

They then called up the wife/husband of the people who caught the garter/bouquet and had both couples put garters on their wife's leg.

It requires having 2 throw away garters but the married people got such a kick out of it. Only one wife got a bouquet to take though. Maybe you could get two give-away bouquets though.

Anyway, I thought it was a different twist to a tradition. I know as a single I HATED going up there!

Some people still do it but we are not doing it. We are going to have our parents wedding song played, have them dance to it and then present each mom with a boo-k and each dad with a garter.

We're throwing the bouquet, but we are calling all the women to the floor, single, married, short, tall, young and old. When I throw it, people won't know it won't be tied, so it will seperate and a bunch of people will get a rose.

We're doing the garter thing also, but not tossing it.

People still do it. I caught it at my cousin's wedding and let alone...I was next!!!

We're playing our parents wedding song and having them dance to it instead.

We are doing the bo-k toss and the garter throw. We have tons of single guys and my sister will kill me if she doesnt get a chance at the bo-k.

I didn't want to do it. I left that part blank on my band's information sheet -- but I guess I should have written NO, b/c as I'm talking with someone, the band started announcing the toss!

Oh well! I did it -- and it went clear over everyone's head. I was so embarrased. I had to do it TWICE!!

ugh. don't do it unless you have a lot of single friends. It is painful for just 5 people to be there - esp if they are over 30
