We're throwing the bouquet, but we are calling all the women to the floor, single, married, short, tall, young and old. When I throw it, people won't know it won't be tied, so it will seperate and a bunch of people will get a rose.

We're doing the garter thing also, but not tossing it.

OMG, I love this!!! I think it's such a great way to do it. I might have to steal the idea.

Yes, people still do it. We are doing the last couple standing dance instead.

We are not tossing the bouquet or the garter. By the way, what is an anniversary dance?

We aren't doing the bouquet/garter thing.

No Bo-K or garter toss here. No anniversary dance either. IMO they break up the flow of the party

I want to do it. I'm a sucker for tradition.

Me too!

That is what I'm going to do. I don't want to stop the band and the dancing for a bridal toss (esp. the last wedding I was at there were NO single guys that weren't relatives of the girl who caught the bo-k!!!)

I figured if I get the whole crowd (old, young, men, women) outside the church looking up at us on the top of the stairs throwing it - what a beautiful picutre!!!

I didn't want to do the garter. I thought my friends wedding was so cute, they called all the married couples on the dance floor and said all the people married less then 10yrs sit down, 20 yrs sit down, etc...Till the last 'old' couple is standing. Then you give the flowers to the lady and toast to many more happy yrs and hope to have the same good luck. I saw many teary eyed ladies in the room.

We are not - but I think its a matter of choice. I also know I say that now but everytime I try to break from tradition I have a gazillion people in my family up in arms - so we'll see as the day gets closer.

People still do. We're definitely not. Never liked it. Have you ever seen what happens on tv (ie. Americas Funniest Videos) - a fall, a fight, some embarrasing exposure, etc. For us the anniversary dance works out perfect because it's my grandparents (for sure) and it's a great way to single them out and make them have a special moment where everyone will recognize them. They deserve it. And even if you don't know in advance who it is - it's still a great way to recognize something so meaningful.

Feel free to copy! Maybe we'll start a new trend! Having many a time been one of the few single people at a wedding, I know how much it sucks which is why I decided to do something different!
