do these shoes work with my dress? help please!
What a crazy wedding-attire day I've had!Today I ordered my dress
I'm so happy. It's definitely 'they one'
Then we went and started checking out wedding shoes. I need to find shoes within a few weeks because with this particular dress they make the length to order because the lace can't really be hemmed or shortened, so I need to find shoes and go back to have the height measured. She said they give her about a month before the factory starts calling and harrassing her for the measurement, so I need to get shoe shopping!
So, we went to DSW and had no luck, and then we went to Craft Shoes in Commack and tried on about a billion pairs of shoes. I have very difficult feet (I'm a narrow size 10, which is basically unheard of, and I have very sensitive skin so I get blisters very easily). I must have tried on about 20 pairs of shoes and nothing fit right or felt comfortable, and the sales guy started getting really crabby with me.
So, I decided to buy a pair and bring them home to wear around the house more, but I'm not really sure if they work with my dress. They just seem like different styles, if that makes sense.
So, please, take a look at the pictures and tell me... do you think the shoes work with the dress, or should I keep looking?
Also, just because it made me laugh, I found slippers to change into for the reception... how funny are these?
thanks ladies!
ETA: If you don't think these shoes work, do you have any suggestions for something else that might? Styles I should look at? Stores to check out? I only have two requirements - a low heel, and no big huge pointy toes. Thanks!

Although I am sure that with the length of your dress you probably will not see the shoes, however I still do not think they work with the dress at all

The slippers are adorable, but I'm not sure the shoes work...have you tried nordstrom of bloomingdales? I know the one in Roosevelt Field mall has hundreds of them! My dress is lace, and I'm wearing ballet slippers...I don't know if you like that style though.

I'm not feeling the shoes. I don't think you should go with a shiny look. It has to be a flat color fabric. Like just plain white organza or something.

Hmm... I don't usually go to Roosevelet Field, but maybe I'll venture out that way next weekend. Thanks!
And I really wanted to do ballet slippers, actually, but unfortunately I can't find a pair that fit my feet properly - the size 10s are always too short, and the size 11s are always too wide. Stupid wierd long narrow feet. I've tried on ballet slippers for years in all different designers and brands and materials, and they never fit right. I've pretty much given up!

I'm picturing closed squared toed shoes with an ankle strap for your dress. I'll see if I can find something.
oooo, those last ones are pretty!
Thanks. I'll do some more looking around.

I am not a fan of the slippers going with the gown... unless you mean at the very end of the reception? That is just SUCH a beautiful, gorgeous and elegant dress, I would hate to see it dressed down by those slippers!
just my opinion...

If I'm not doing ballet slippers, I want open toe, probably, but I'm open to trying closed toe.
And I think maybe a really teeny heel, but nothing much... originally I was going to wear flats, so I would be fine without a heel. Definitely nothing bigger than 1 1/2 to 2 inches.

i think you should look for a bit of a fancier pair, but if they are comfy go for them!

yes i agree. i think the slippers are very cute but just beware: i was given a pair very similar and i find it very hard for them to STAY on my feet for some reason! i don't know why-- so if you are going to use them for dancing and socializing at the reception you might want to wear them around the house first and make sure they are right for you-- hopefully it's just my weird foot and they work on you! HTH... the dress is very pretty btw, nice and elegant.
