FH and I have been tossing around the idea of having the GM and him wear suits instead of tuxes. FH feels he would like this better, as it would be a little less formal. Our wedding is at Carlyle and it's a day wedding, so I think this would work.
Then we saw the People magazine article on Tiffani Theissen's wedding to Brady Smith, and he really likes the look of the tan/beige suit Brady wore.
My question to you is: Would this be suitable? (no pun intended! lol) I don't want the GM and FH to get lost in the crowd, but in all honesty, most wedding guests (men that is.. ) tend to wear dark suits anyway.. so in my twisted head, this idea could work
Here is a pic of our BM dresses by Bill Levkoff. The material is pinstriped, but you can't see the detail in the pic. Next is Tiffani and Brady..
Thanks in advance for all your thoughts on the topic (and FH thanks you too! )
Heck no, they don't have to be black. Your attire is exactly that, yours. Wear what you like! I personally love the beige suit, it looks very elegant, IMO.

Re: Do tuxes HAVE to be black?
I think it looks really nice, and it's a great excuse to purchase a killer suit.
I've also seen a few suits will light slacks and dark pants....maybe you can have the gm in that with fh in the all beige for vice versa...
no matter what he wears, everyone will know who the groom is! I was talking to fh about doing the same, but he wears suits every day for work, so he's not really game (and I think he is secretly dying to dress up like James Bond )

Re: Do tuxes HAVE to be black?
i think you are right - most men do wear dark suits.
the lightest thing my FH has is an olive suit.
i think it will even match better with the girls...

Erin, I think that would look great! I love lighter color suits, especially for a summer, daytime wedding.
When I saw that pic of Tiffani and her husband I thought they looked so great!

Re: Do tuxes HAVE to be black?
I never saw this post Erin! I definately like the non-black route for the GM's & Brian! I think the 'Brady' look definateyl suits the day wedding & matches our dresses! The GM's & Brian will stand out among the crowd no matter what!
I say go against the traditional route & do what you want! It is definately preppy & 'golf clubish'

Re: Do tuxes HAVE to be black?
FH is going to be wearing a tan/creme suit - we have a summer day wedding, so just liked this idea better than a heavy black tux.
