they also have a tip jar out and will make more than 20% of what we are paying him? Seems like then he would be double tipped...?

we asked for no tip jar to be out and we would tip them ourselves... however they had a tip jar out anyway, and we only noticed in the pictures...

We asked for no tip jar out. My caterer said they don't use one anyway. Your guests should not feel inclined to tip. I know that some of my guests did anyway, but I don't like the idea of a jar. I would ask to get rid of hte jar, then I would tip.

We specifically told our RH manager to make sure NOT to put any tip jar by the bar or anywhere.

fh and i are not tipping them... we paid them to be there.. guests can tip as they get drinks. this is what i did at every wedding i had went to. tipped for the service i received.

We are requesting that the tip jar be removed from the bar. I don't want to see it there, I personally feel that it is tacky. We will take care of the gratuity ourselves. If a guest wants to tip, then that is their option.
As guests at functions, we normally collect money from everyone at our table to tip the wait staff at the beginning of the evening.

i agree- get rid of that tip jar they'll be well compensated for by the RH from the thousands of dollars you give them

I agree that there shouldn't be a tip jar, but just to let you know, people will still tip anyway. When FH and I go to weddings, we drop tips right on the bar and have seen a lot of guests do the same.
We won't be tipping them separately. We were told they get their tips from... I forgot which - either the 20% 'gratuity' we already paid or with the maitre'd's cut.
