What has she done to make her top news at 10:00?

AMEN!!! I get that she's Paris Hilton but come on since when is this breaking news. Give me a break!!! She did not cure CA, end world hunger, help make world peace or even star in a good movie Who really cares if she is in jail?
On the other hand I can't help but be totally engrossed in the celebrity gossip

I have no idea why she's a celebrity other than being rich and trashy. I'm glad she's in jail for what she did though, she deserves it!

Honestly, I'm glad b/c it puts attention on the horrible crime and epidemic that is drunk driving- hopefully, people will see how they are not backing down on her and that she is actually doing time in jail and they will, as a result, think twice before driving drunk.

Who knows, this could save some lives-- God knows enough are taken each day-- it's time we start saving some.

Ugh...I dont even want to see her name..

I completely agree. It really pisses me off when people say that they feel sorry for her. Driving drunk is no laughing matter. Thank GD she was pulled over that night - she could very well have gotten into a horrible accident, injuring and possibly killing an innocent person. Would you feel bad for her then? Let's not overlook the reason why she's in jail - think about that the next time you feel a twinge of sympathy.

Honestly, I disagree... I think all this attention on her is making a mockery of the legal system and the media is making light of the HORRIBLE offense she committed. Driving drunk is no laughing matter - she could have killed someone that night. But instead the media is talking about the gray sweatsuit she was wearing in court today and the fact that she wasn't wearing any makeup!!!!!! I think she should rot in jail for a lot longer than 45 days. This is not her first offense! Ugh, this makes me so mad.

Or how about the men and women fighting for our country, who went missing? Or not even that...how about just in general the men and women fighting for our country!!! PERIOD! The only top stories we get on them is when their dead. VERY SAD

I don't care about Hilton's comings and goings. She was seen coming out of a nightclub? So what?

I care that she, as a famous and wealthy person, may have received special treatment by the justice system and it was rectified. IMHO, that is noteworthy.

I totally agree. What pains me the most is that she'll somehow still profit from this. You know what they say in Hollywood, all press is good press. She's getting sooo much attention--it's sickening. If Joe Smo from Alabama got a DWI and then drove with a suspended license, he'd be locked up and it wouldn't make TV or the papers.
The media today is just so obsessed with the very sad and tragic young hollywood.
