Do wedding dresses typically run small?

I typically wear clothing size 18/20/22 (depending on the store) and i'm 6' tall. I had to wear a size 26 dress at David's Bridal. Is this typical for all wedding dresses or just their dresses? It really depressed me.

Bridal Dresses do run small!! Dont worry about the number on the back of the dress no one will see it. Worry about how well that dress fits you ! I am normallya size 4/6/8 (depending on the make of the dress bc i got a big butt lol) and they ordered me a 10 or 12 i believe!

I wear a 12 - they ordered an 18, don't worry about the number.

This is also me. They also base the size on your largest area (chest or hips).

BTW- You look great and I would never guess that it was a size 26.

I usually wear a 14 in jeans and my wedding dress is a 20! Don't feel bad. BTW - you look gorgeous in that dress. I would never guess its a 26! A-line is beautiful on you!

yes!!! I wear a size 2 and they had me order a size 10 for a bridesmaid dress for my cousins wedding!

Yes, most of them do run small. I'm usually a 6/8 and they ordered either a 10 or a 12 for my MOH dress for FSIL's wedding.

i typically wear a 10/12/14... the sample dresses I've tried on were a 12/14/16 depending the designer.

That dress looks wonderful on you!! I'm tall also, and so there have been bridal parties where I've had to order a larger dress so it would be long enough!!

Don't worry about the size, just enjoy trying dresses on and worry about how you look in them. Size is just a number.

They definitely run small. I wear a size 6 pants and a medium/large top (big boobs lol) and ended up ordering a size 10 dress. Don't worry about the number, just worry about feeling wonderful in your dress!

ummm small doesn't even begin to describe it!!!
I wear a size 4/6 my wedding dress is a size 16!!! granted I do have 32G for a chest and definitely needed room for that but still!!! OMG lol

Yes, they definitely do. I wear a 16 and the size I fell into with my gown designer is 20-22. Definitely don't let that get you down. That dress looks great on you! Good luck with the rest of your search!

They do run small especially if your busty! Great dress it's mine in white!! never worry its just a number you look gorgeous.
