'Love knows NO age'? I was just chatting with a very wise LIW girl and she said these words to me and while I am 100% sure that I believe this is true....does anyone disagree? Just wondering what you all thought.

I think it's definately true that love knows no age. A lot of people say that love is a mature thing and you have to be old enough to understand how you're feeling, but that's not true at all. At least I don't think it's true.

True Story..
My older cousin (43) lost her husband after 10 year's of marriage due to illness. Two years later she went to her high school reunion and was re-introduced to her high school sweetheart, who had never married, why? Because his only true love, was her. They orginally broke up because he and his parents moved away to Texas in their senior year. He waited 20 something years to see her again. One year later, the got married.

It definitely depends on the two people.
I am 23 and my Fh is 34 (will be 35 on our wedding day ) We starting dating I was 19 and he was 31. My friend and an acquaintance of his were dating and they hooked us up, at first when I heard his age, I was like , but then we hung out and as they say 'the rest is history' LOL
BTW: I didn't tell my parents how old he was until after they met b/c I knew once they met him, they wouldn't care about the age difference and they would love him like I do!!

I've given this a lot of thought and I came to this theory. I truly believe love knows no boundaries. Be it age, race, religion - nothing will stand in its way. I would love my FH no matter what differences he had. Of course, this is JMO

I totally agree.
FH is deaf, and I am overweight. There are more than a few family members, that have this stupid idea, that somehow we are 'settling' he for a 'fat' girl, and me for a 'deaf' guy. What they fail to realize, it's because of who we are, our life journey that made us who we are, it's why we found true love and happiness in each other. It hasn't been perfect, but I truly believe anything worth having never comes easy.

Beautifully said Jen - I couldn't agree more. My FI is younger than I am. I find it ironic that people love him & have nothing but great things to say about what a nice couple we are and how ready we both seem for marriage...until they find out his age...then people (not most but some) change their tune real quick. In the end I think definitely love knows no age.

I think that love knows no age...and I guess what I mean more specifically is that I would never discredit a relationship just because the two met when they were 'young.' FH and I started dating at 18 and we have been together for 8 years. When I would say that he was the one people would laugh and tell me that I was too young to know what love was. I disagree.
Yeah I agree with that. I met my FH when I was 16 and he was 17. I heard all the same things and I still do
same here...I agree with you gals...I met FH at 18...and I knew...

Ya know i have been thinking about this topic...And then i thought of one of my good friends...She is 37 right now (soon 38) and was dating this guy who was 24. She 'loved him' BUT and this is a BIG BUT! She wanted to get married, have children, settle down. He wasn't/isn't ready for that and said so. So yes love knows no age BUT there can be a lot of issue to think about when the ages of the 2 people are so different. They ended up breaking up over his 'not being ready' issue! SO i would advise people to have so understanding about where you are in life and how you see your immediate future before falling in love. She is now heart broken. Even though love may no know age...YOU SHOULD!

I think it often depends on your age, and the guys age... When I was 14, there was this 19 year old who really liked me, and while I thought he was 'hot' I just couldn't feel comfortable. Now, at 22, however, I wouldn't feel uncomfortable at all dating a 27 year old, or even someone a few years older...
