I just got officially engaged a little over a month ago and I'd feel wierd if I called them that...but then again, I feel wierd for not calling them that...they love me...

I call FH's parents Mr. & Mrs. _______. When we're married, I'll call them mom and dad.

LOL I literally call them 'Future Mother In Law' and 'Future Father In Law'.... FH sister calls me 'Future funky sister'

When we were friends I called them mr. and mrs.
when we started dating, it was a little weird to go to first names, when they insisted.
'mom' and 'dad' would be even stranger to me..
ill have to see how it goes.

i do call them mom and dad, but i've known them for over 9 years...and fh's sil always refers to them that way and we LIVE in the upstairs apartment of their house...so it just kind of happened. it just makes things easier when communicating with or about them.

I have been with my fiance now for almost ten years - I have ALWAYS called them by their first names. Once I am married I will never refer to them as MOM and DAD because I already have a mom and dad.

no not yet.. i call them by their first names.. i'd like to call them mom and dad.. they sign my cards with mom and dad.. but idk if i would feel totally comfy call them that.. thats just me

i call them by their first names when i write to them in email or in cards i write Mom and Dad after we get married i am going to ATTEMPT to say mom and dad. . .
its so hard - i love them but it feels funny!

My FPIL's actually asked me the night that Danny and I got engaged to call them mom and dad (only if I felt comfortable with it).
It definately takes time getting used to transitioning from Mr/Mrs to Mom/Dad

my dfmil has said over the last 6 years..lol you dont have to call me mom.. you already have one.. so that settled that.. (she had a horrific mil..soooo i guess i am suffering as a result.. lovveelyy) i think my ffil would want me to call him dad.. because once i wrote out the card to dad with his name above it.. and hes like you dont have to do that.. so well see.. for now i call them by their first names.. ive also known them forever so it was easy to call them that...

I avoid it, but when I need to I'll say mom and dad because they really feel they've 'adopted me' since my parents aren't with me anymore. I fight with them like you would with parents and they take care of me when I need them so, why not. but I understand not being 100% comfortable with it since there is nothing better than the bond you share with your own parents and calling them something special is wonderful.

I call the mom and dad when I'm talking about them...not to their face. But it is getting more comfortable for me now. In due time I think it will just feel fine.

I call them by their first names for now- which was funny because on cards that we both sign we put 'To mom and dad'. When we get married I'm not sure what I'll call them- probably still by first names.

I use to call them mom and dad until they totally disrespected me and my parents (long story) now I call them by their first names, and it is going to stay that way! They lost their mom and dad privledges haha

I call them Mom and Dad...sometimes mamasita and papasita...LOL...
We've been dating for 13 years...so....and both my parents have past away...so they kinda adopted me...I think it depends on each individual situation.
