Do you care where the RD is?

Do you care where the RD is?

My FMIL is on a tight budget, and wants to have a buffet RD in a hotel banquet room.

I don't - I really don't like buffets, and we're having the brunch the next day there so I just feel like EVERYTHING will be there and it's sort of boring.

She doesn't want to do anything to decorate it either (centerpieces, menus or anything like that).

Should I let it go?

if shes paying for it then yeah
if there are extra things you want that cost more i think you should pay for it then

If shes taking care of paying for it, I'd let it go....just maybe I would add some centerpieces myself just to decorate it a little.

I'd just let it go. Honestly, its just the RD. We're having our's in my parents backyard..doing a bbq.

maybe you can find out how much that will cost, and look for alternatives in the same price range

honestly, i think i am looking to my RD almost as much as the wedding. the place is awesome, we got a great price, and i know it will be great

I do care where RD is but we were picky about where we are having it....I would say it will be fine, especially since she is paying. I would maybe suggest doing fun DIY projects with her to decorate? Maybe paper lanterns?

I'd let if go. She probably wants to do more, but is restricted and saying something might make her feel bad.

I think you should at least like the place. Regardless of who is paying for it, it is for you and FH so you both should be happy about the location.

YOu can dress it up with some balloons and supermarket flowers in Dollar tree vases! I decorated my mom's surprise party for exactly $20 that way!

I'd let it go and pay for any of the extras I wanted.

We are also having ours as a backyard BBQ. Who wants to add another big stress before the wedding?

We wanted someplace close to our church and someplace meaningful to us. We are having it where we had our first date

FMIL wanted to do a buffet and I said NO WAY. We told her that they can contribute whatever they want at the place we pick and we'll cover the rest if it's too much for them. I'm not a fan of buffets...

If someone would pay for ours, I wouldnt care where it was. I only wish someone would pay for ours : )

ITA. It's you and FH RD and you should have it where you want it. Maybe you should offer an alternative.

I would agree with some of the other posters...I'd let it go since she is paying. However, you can add a lil something or ask the hotel if they can provide it.
