does this mean we have to become prostitutes now

I had the perfect family till I was 18. My parents started dating at 13, got married at 18 had me at 19 and 2 kids more.

Right before their 20 yr. anniversary my mom found out my dad was cheating. They seperated 1 week before my H.S. graduation. It was horrible.

Now my mom is remarried to an amazing man that has been in my life for 10 years and my dad is married to the homewrecker that he cheated on my mom with and I no longer speak to the dirt bag.

Can't wait to shed myself of his last name and have no more ties to him.

Can you tell I am still bitter.

this is what i was trying to say in the other thread, that yes the man is 100% wrong but you also hate the other woman, people might think its wrong but as the kid its how you feel

Yup, I can tell and I'm so sorry. I'm glad your mom found someone who loves her back! My parents got divorced when I was 5 and my mom has been married to my stepdad since I was 8....this November will be their 20th anniversary!!!!

I do not
but i would like to say that I HATE homewreckers...they are just as bad or if not worse then the men - i do not understand how a woman could be with a man when she knows he is married -

my parents were together until i was 24. They separated, not a divorce or anything dragged out and bad. My situation is very weird and people dont understand it and i dont blame them but it works. I would feel the same way others do if they viewed my situation. But my mom moved, there was just alot she couldn't take, my dad helped alot and after a while he even moved into the same building, he lives 2 floors down. We spend holidays together, he comes upstairs alot, she is always downstairs. They help eachother alot, if my dad needs financial help my mom is there and vice versa.

FH doesnt come from a broken home, his parents have been married 30 years, have a great relationship. His mom taught CCD classes, his dad was always into baseball and both his parents were a big part of him playing baseball as a kid. They are the all american family with an italian twist hahaha. Eat dinner together all the time, do things together.

No, I don't come from a broken home.
My parents will be celebrating 35 years of marriage in August!

my mom cheated on my dad w her boss for years and then she left my dad for him.

but my dad was no angel either...he had a heavy hand in ruining their relationship...not by cheating but by other pretty bad things.

anyway...lol...

I don't, my parents are celebrating 27 years come the 29th! .... but DH does, his parents are divorced, and his mom was remarried and divorced again, poor woman was cheated on by both ex-husbands

My parents will be married 36 years in May!!!!!
I think the fact that my dads job had him travel a whole lot for months at a time is the reason they are still together

Nope... my parents will be married 31 years this year.

FH doesn't either... his parents will be married 32 years this year.

Espo I don't think your parent's situation is weird at all. I think that if a lot of separated/divorce parents did this (well except live in the same building...lol) it would be ideal for a lot of children.
