Do you find this weird?

Before reading this, please note that I understand how expensive weddings can be for EVERYONE involved. That said, FH and I got a package over the weekend--it was ONE out of the twelve $20 wine glasses we ordered. The glass was from a good friend of mine and FH's (her fiance is actually a GM in our wedding), and it said 'congratulations on your wedding!' FH and I are assuming it's from this friend and her fiance as a joint gift.

I don't mean to sound rude--because I really wanted those glasses--but isn't it kind of odd to get one $20 glass that is from two people as a wedding gift? Am I wrong to be surprised?

ETA: I checked the shipping label and registry, and they only got us one!

Hmm...I do find it a little weird. I know that alot of times 1 person doesn't always buy the total quanity you asked for but1 glass is kinda weird...I think it should of at least been a pair IMO

I agree. It is weird that a couple (2) would buy 1 glass for another couple (2). Seems a little silly to me.

yeah i think its strange... i would def expect a set rather than 1 glass...

that is strange. do u think she maybe thought by entering 1 in qty...she was ordering you 1 whole set?

Check the shipping label--is it possible that they're just being shipped separately and that more are coming? If not...that's weird.

The only reason I don't think that is because she is registered at the same place that I am, so she should know how it works!

i def think that weather they are 1 or 2 people, giving a COUPLE only ONE glass is very strange!

yeah I mean I totally get that things are tight but ONE glass?? Maybe she thought she was ordering ONE SET of 2???

umm thats strange...

where is she from??

not that it matters, because a family of 6 (my aunt and uncle and their 4 kids) gave FH and I and engagement gift worth $25 bucks- the tags were still on it... and 5 out of the 6 came to our E party.

That is soooo weird to only send 1. Is she coming to your wedding? That would s u ck if that is the gift she gives to you as a wedding present IMO, it's not even thoughtful to give someone 1 wine glass

that is weird. I also thought that maybe she thought she was buying the whole set but I would think the price of it would make her realize its just one glass. Maybe you should see what she says when you thank her. Say ' I received the GLASS you sent me, Thank you!' see what see says. lol it is really weird though...

So, even if she had gotten both, they'd be $40? That seems like a really low amt for a present!

Hmmm....there really is no way to bring this up to her either....do you know if she's hurting, money-wise?

She and her FH are in grad school...anyone in school is hurting money-wise! But a $20 glass just seems really odd to me. Plus, she's getting married a few months after me, so I feel like she would at least know the costs of what puts a wedding together.

That is kinda weird, especially for a wedding gift. I got 1 glass of every type that I registered for from my cousin when I got engaged BUT she thought they were sets so that might explain why you only got one but $20 for a wedding gift is a little weird. Maybe they thought it was a set and they are going to give you money at the actual wedding. I wouldn't worry until after the wedding to see if that's all you get.
