Do you girls take your E-ring off for certain activities? <to avoid damaging it, not to flirt!! :)>

So this weekend while I was moving I bent a prong and loosened my whole setting. Thankfully everything was ok and I didn't lose the diamond and it was only like $40 to fix.

But it got me wondering, should I be taking it off more often when I do things like go to the gym, move things around the apartment, etc? Do you keep your ring on at ALL times?

Im not a jewlery person so Im clueless with jewlery care and stuff. Its a platinum ring if that helps.

I take my ring off to shower, sleep, wash dishes, work out, and if I was moving things around I would take it off. I was moving just a few things around my room the other day and I banged it against something. Luckily it is ok, but I think I would take it off next time I was to do something like this.

I pretty much wear it everywhere, but I take it off before I go to bed. If I'm moving stuff around or cleaning I usually take it off because I'm afraid I'll bend it or break it. It's probably a good idea to take it off to do any of that stuff. I feel guilty when I take mine off as well. I hope this helps!

I only take mine off to shower, wash dishes and when I sleep. I keep it on at the gym and for everything else! It just feels weird when I take it off even just to shower.

I am probably the odd one here, but I take mine off as soon as I get in my house. I also stop home before the gym and drop it off because I refuse to put it in the locker.
My setting is so high and gets caught on everything. If I slept with it, I would be afraid that my FH would wake up with a gash across his face

I take if off to sleep, when I'm showering, cleaning and washing dishes and moving furniture.

Could you imagine if people thought you were beating FH with your engagement ring? Nothing like a little COPS-like drama before the wedding!

I take it off as soon as I get home.. I don't shower with it or wash dishes with it.. I don't put lotion on with it on.. I do wear my ring to the gym and wherever else, but when I am home, it's off..

well, i NEVER leave home without it on-- i feel naked if i do that. i tried it once when i went to the gym and i hated it.

i wear it MOST of the time when i'm home: except when i'm sleeping b/c my jeweler said if it gets caught on a blanket it could bend the prong and also when i shower and then get ready b/c he said the chemicals from the shampoo, hairpsray, make-up, etc etc that i put on when i get ready isn't 'good' for the ring... he said the same thing about cleaning and cooking (with the food getting in it) so when i clean/cook i take it off b/c of the products and food. i have these great ring holders (a silver cat statue with a long tail) and i have one in the bathroom, one next to our bed, and one in the kitchen so i ALWAYS put it on there-- just to be safe i know it has to be in one of those three spots)...

so just that, but i'm glad you mentioned the moving thing b/c when it's my turn to do that i'll def keep in mind that i should take it off!! thanks!

I only take mine off to sleep, shower and workout. I hate wearing it when I get sweaty since I swell up. But that's it. I work in the food industry and FH refuses to have me leave the house w/out it!
