Do you have a 'one that got away'?

Is there an ex out there who you still love and care about, and think of as the one that got away? and/or is there someone you never expressed your feelings for, etc?

No, not really. I am so glad they got away.

To be honest, knowing now how great my DH is and how much I love him, I could never want anyone I dated in the past. We are perfect for each other.

i have one, we were together for over 2 years and he dumped me. but we were still friends and would talk on the phone occassionally. we started to hang out again after about a year since we had broken up and i thought that we would make it work again, but, it did not. he passed away in april of 99 so i lost him completely.

I agree with you on most counts.

I do have one ex who I was head over heels for like crazy...in a way that could enmver be recreated. there's NO way I would EVER want him back...but still..

And I also have one person who i never ever told my feelings to, and FH even knows I've been nuts about him forever, but I've gotten past it...

The two exes who broke up with me have admitted that they made a mistake and they dont' know what they were thinking. I'm still very close friends with both of them.

One of them was probably my most passionate relationship..it was in HS, and lasted all of a month. Every once in awhile, I wonder 'what if' about him, but he and I are totally incompatible. He is a wonderful friend, but he and I just have completely different lives, in every wat.

I thought I had one who got away, and ran into him about 12 years later, after my divorce and moving back to the States. Well I saw him in the mall, but wasn't sure if it was him. Got ahold of his email and wrote to him. We met at Borders. And...it didn't work. For years he had always been the 'one that got away' so meeting up with him brought closure I guess you could say.

Then I met DH a few months later....and couldn't be happier!!

i did think that for awhile, now i just wonder how he's doing every once in awhile.
We broke up just because I needed some time apart, and we still saw each other and were friends. When he got a new girlfriend I stopped talking to him completely. I always thought we'd get back together. He ended up marrying that girl. I was really sad when i heard they were engaged.

I couldn't agree with you more. Thinking back now I really dated a bunch of losers. Thank god they got away!

FH and I broke up for a year and wen we got back he introduced me to all his new friends he had met as remember i was telling you about the one that got away..well this is her.. love him!!!!

There was one. MY first true love. I think of him every so often. As what if. I was 17 when we met. And he went away to college. we broke up mostly cause of my fault

There was this guy from my early 20s.

He was here on business... we dated on adn off for years- it was heard as he lived in CA and I obviously in NYC so we would only see eachtother 1 or 2 times a year.

But when we did- holy fireworks batman

And although I really don't know if it wouldl have worked it was just that passionate crazy lustful feeling that has me nostalgic.

Wow, same story we were just too young. He passed about 20 years ago...I will never forget him.

I used to think that my ex was the one that got away until I met my current SO. The ex and I were good back then but would NEVER make it now. Our friends and families would constantly ask about us getting back together until he had a child with his new GF. It took a while but I finally stopped hearing that we should be together. I stopped thinking that way 6 years ago!

My current boyfriend is everything I need and want but didn't realize it until he came into my life. Not sure if that makes sense. :)

I don't know if he's the 'one who got away' but I still have very strong feelings for my ex. I would never think of being with him again, but he was my first love and there have been fleeting moments of 'what if' when it comes to him.
