Do you have a wedding website?

Since we're in a very high tech era, everything has become simplified (or complicated depending on your view haha) thanks to the use of technology.

I'm still on the fence about creating a website because 1. I have no idea where to start 2. Not sure if it is necessary 3. If we do go for website, I would look for a site that hosts it for free since budget is uber tight! 4. Finally, do you write it on your save the date cards?

Since the big day is in 11 months and we are planning on ordering and sending out STD cards soon, I need to decide if creating a site is worth it.

Any insight is appreciated !

Do you have a wedding website? - Long Island Weddings

Most sites these days offer to host your website for free. You can try wedding wire.com or the knot to name a few. They have lost of layouts and each has it's own flash intro, so it looks really official.

It's not necessary but helpful. It allows your out of town guests to look up travel accommodations you've set up for them, without bothering to have to call anyone to ask and such. You can also choose to include it with your save the dates or not, it's up to you. I've printed out the URL on cardstock and included it in the envelope with my STD.

i felt like a wedding website was necessary. it is free to create (although we did purchase a domain through the knot, since i thought it would be easier for people to remember). it has everything in one place, from fun facts, info about the bridal party, accommodations, etc etc. it's really, really useful in my opinion and i included it on our STDs.

We created one and people have already been commenting on how useful it is! There are TONS of free templates out there to choose from. We ended up purchasing a domain name since i wanted a simple url for the STD.

We don't have one, it's just not our personality, but I think they are probably very useful for guests.

we did one because we have TONS of out of town guests. we included it in the save the date envelope and people keep logging in and checking it and leaving nice little notes. we did it through the knot, but bought a personalized URL.

We have one, I'm not done with it yet, but we have SO MANY OOT guests, that I thought it was the easiest way for them to get all the info. I did include it on the save the dates.

Do you have a wedding website? - Long Island Weddings

We have one (hosted for free through weddingwire), and we put it on the STD. At least 1/3 of our guest list is OOT so I needed a way to get them travel and accommodations information early enough for them to make plans. Out STD's just this week so people are just starting to get them and visit the website, but everyone I've heard from so far loves it and thinks it's really helpful.

Do you have a wedding website? - Long Island Weddings

Our photographer created our wedding website for free. I would not pay for a wedding website; I know you can create them for free on many sites. We included the website link on our Save The Date. I think the websites are really cute and personal. You can add information for your OOT guests, how the bride and groom met, the proposal story, wedding party, registry information, etc. Have fun with it!!

Do you have a wedding website? - Long Island Weddings

I definitely felt this was necessary. I used weddingwire.com; free, easy and pretty. Here is our link: www.weddingwire.com/johnandchrissy

I did put it on our save the date. It makes me feel better to know that all of the information I need my guests to know has been put out there so that I don't have to answer the same thing 100 times!
