Do you have to have a common link?

Do you have to have a common link?

Sorry hit enter before I typed anything! haha

Anyway, I am having a hard time making decisions on things because I feel like none of my stuff ties together...

I wanted to do the starfish escort cards...and make my baskets with a starfish on them, but my invites are paisley...not beachy.

And then What do I do for favors? I wanted to do corkscrews (but nice ones)....see how nothing goes together? Do I have to have a common link?

You don't 'have' to do anything. Please remember that.

Your invitations are beautiful! If you want to have starfish in other places, that would be a wonderful touch as well! They don't have to match at all. My invites are not in my colors in the least. It's not a big deal. Most people don't even notice!

Some people actually don't like to have themes, per se, running throughout their process because they find it to be too much like a bat mitzvah, and we're not 13 anymore. If a theme can be done very classy, it isn't childish, but there's no reason to fret over designs not matching through your whole wedding process.

I don't think so. To me, I think you should do whatever you want, as long as you like it! I know a lot of girls tie all of their stuff together, but I don't think that's necessary! It's nice, but not necessary.

And yes, lovely invites!

I didn't have a theme to my wedding. I used dark red ink on the invitations and placecards and programs, but that's the only 'common link.'

Our programs had an elephant on them (I'm indian and it represents one of the Hindu gods) but then we gave out keychains with 4 leaf clovers inside as our favor (DH is Irish) - no link!
