Do you know what's worse than wedding planning (well some wedding planning at least)

I HATE HOUSE HUNTING!!! AHHHHHHHHHH! FH has something in mind but this is so nerve wrecking! I have been on every website all morning and emailing FH houses and he finds a flaw in everything... Oh this has an oil heater, oh the garage isn't attached, oh the school district suxs, oh this oh that!
And than I got FMIL input, and all I have to say is 'mother-daughter' NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT FOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRR MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Forget it!!! I wanna live in a cardboard box! OR move to like Tahiti or something.

Sorry needed to vent...

Im sorry sounds like me I have list of stuff the house( walk in closet) must have Fh laughs at me he looks at oil heater , gas, electric boxes the size of the property

well FH and I recently decided to just rent for the next few years. That was a big weight off our shoulders, because we couldnt agree on much with house hunting -- mainly because i want to live in a more urban area b4 i have kids, and he would rather have space now. lol

FH doesn't want to rent, however, I am cool with it. (anything is better than living with his 'rents) He said that he would much rather purchase a home now so in case we decide to 'start a family' right after the wedding ( he has all intentions to do so...) than he wants to be prepared. But whats upsetting is he passes up these great house b/c of the school district. I think thats whats urking me a little.

I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. This is worse than Job hunting. Or RH hunting. Or shopping with my mother.

I am not looking forward to house hunting. I feel like both FH and I will be let down many times. We aren't going to start though until next Spring.

Honestly, school district is a big concern if you plan on staying there for a long period of time and have children there. Remember, you can always build your walk-in closet

I think you two need to come up with your list of 'necessities' and then your list of 'luxuries' and then look from there.

For instance, we required at least 3 bedrooms, a driveway, a garage (either attached or not), a basement, and a good school district. When we did our searches on MLS, we made sure those were in the search. Just be patient and the right house will come along. We started looking in November 2007 and didn't find the right house until May 2008.

We've been house hunting since November, but not actively. Now the heat is on again, and I am over it lol.

FH and i are house hunting full force... let me tell you STRESS!!!!!

we both made a list of things that were important to us and things we can live without. when youre looking just try your hardest to see past all the cosmetic things. 1980s wall paper is scary but just remember that you can remove it and paint. LOCATION is #1. get the best house in the best neighborhood you can afford, it will always appreciate.

try to hook up with a real estate agent and they can make you an account on listingbook.com i found it to be WAY better than mlsli.com. it orders the homes that fit your criteria in order of status changes like price or new to the market.

just try to relax and know you will be disappointed at some point during the process.
