Fh and I had ths convo last night. I personally don't think I would ever let someone try on my e-ring. I've met strangers who do this all the time. When you compliment them they are like 'you wanna try it on?'
Have you ever let anyone try on you ring? I am so superstitious sometimes. I would be freaked out and think it was bad luck. hmmm..

never a stranger - and if they ask i'd use the bad luck excuse- even tho i do not believe in it- i'd just be afraid theyd take it and run..
but me and my best friend swap e rings during class sometimes.. but she has tiny fingers and hers hardly gets on my finger - not so much fun!

At first, i felt that it was so rude for others to ask to try it on , but then i found that it was so common for people to ask. Once, someone asked to try it on in front of FH, and he gave me the screw face , so i told them no, and even felt bad.
Something about me doesnt like the idea, but i don't mind as much anymore

Never!
My cousin once asked if she can try it on and made a move to take it, which I thought was really rude. When I said 'no,' she got all huffy because she said that our other cousin lets her do it all the time. I think it's rude and a bit disrespectful.

Of course!! As long as Im in there site. But I only let friends and family try it on anyways. I think 25 people have tried it on already. I take it as a compliment also.

before i got engaged i thought i was no big deal, but now i would think its rude if someone asked to try it on. it even bothers me when people take my hand to look at it. if you want to see just ask and then I will show you myself!

Re: Do you let other women try on your e-ring?
I WOULD NEVER ALLOW ANY ONE TRY MY RING ON, IT WAS BOUGHT W/ UNCONDITIONAL LOVE FOR THIS FINGURE ONLY.. AND I ALSO BELIEVE THAT IS BAD LUCK,
It doesn't bother me at all when it is a friend who asks to try it on but first day into work folowing the weekend I got engaged a girl I knew for about 5 minutes asked me to try it on. I was so taken back that I just hadned it to her thinking she would slip it on and slip it off. She put it on...looked at it...and walked out of my office with it! I had to follow her out and ask for it back! When I did she said to me 'oh I just wanted to wear it for a while' Found it VERY odd!! But otherwise as long as it is a friend I don't mind at all.

I do not offer and much of the time I would say no. I did, however, allow someone who wanted to try it on b/c in her culture it is good luck to try on someone's ring and twist it 3 times. My 10 year old niece has also tried it on many times.

I always let my sister and good friends try it on... it doesn't bother me at all. I wouldn't let a stranger try it on though, I think that's weird.

Re: Do you let other women try on your e-ring?
I think most people know I'm uncomfortable taking the ring off...because when they ask to see it I just stick my hand out . A couple people have asked to try it on and I let them...only because I'm a size 3 and I know the ring wouldn't fit over their knuckes. Usually, though, they can see I'm really paranoid about it getting dropped etc so they're extra careful...I'm a freak

someone once told me it was bad luck to have people try on your ring before you are married, so I've never done it. I've taken it off to have people look at it, but never have they put it on their finger! haha
Me too. I yelled at my sister when she tried to!!

Re: Do you let other women try on your e-ring?
FH doesn't really like when I let other people try it on, but I don't mind if friends or family want to. When I first got engaged though, my Aunt told me how when one or her aunts got engaged, she let her family pass the ring around the table at the restaurant during her e-party. Well, someone 'dropped' the ring, and they never found it, even though everyone looked for it frantically. It's become family rumor kind of,because soon after the woman's cousin who was near to where the ring 'dropped' got engaged and had a really nice ring. So just be careful who you let try on your ring!

Re: Do you let other women try on your e-ring?
I have, mostly only if I know them really well- like my best friends and my sister, and my mom. But not random people. The other night I had my ring in its box and my roomies friend from high school came over and asked to see the ring and I told my roomie to go grab the box and show her and she took it out and tried it on and I was like ummm...I dunno how I feel about this. but I didn't say anything and she was careful and put it back in the box. But it was weird. Cus I have only met her twice before.

Why not? It's not like they are hurting you or stealing your soul (Amish & photos). It's just a ring. I tried onl lots of peoples wedding band to get an idea of what would match my ring.

I'm not a big believer in bad luck but being that I'm Italian & my FH is Greek our families are big on that .....So, no I have never & would never let anyone try on my ring. I think my mom would kill me
