Do you like any of these dresses?

Original post by Michy2009

Lemme give you girls a little background about me. I will be 41 in October, I am 5' 5' about 140 lbs (I BETTER LOSE AT LEAST 10 LBS BY THE WEDDING).I have small boobs and I am pretty 'hippy', I wouldnt say bottom heavy, but I have definately curvy hips. This is my second wedding. Because of my age, and shape, I do not think I can pull off alot of the beautiful gowns that your ladies can, however, I want to look absolutely stunning on my wedding. FH deserves nothing less. Can you take a look in my album and tell me if you like any of the three different dresses I am interested in? Thanks

Your choices are AMAZING!!!!

def. go and try them all on. I think they're each beautiful in their own way.

I think #1 would really elongate you! Esp with the vertical lace/beaded panels.
#2, same deal... my personal fav... and halter styles do fabulous things for boobies!
#3 is gorgeous as well, I particularly like the removable lace bolero! It also might conceal hips the best of the designs, but again, you'd be surprised... I'm a little hippy and the more form fitting designs did better to slim me than some of the A-lines. it all depends on the dress. And hips are gorgeous anyway! Show off your girlie figure!

Good luck!!! keep us updated on what you decide!

Thank you! I thought maybe the verticl lace panels would elongate me also. Hey, I got my fingers crossed that will be the case and I will like the way it looks

#2- I love the back, and God knows my boobies can use all the help they could get

#3- I love th bolero jacket too! It is a way for the to kinda of still do the strapless

Thanks for your thoughts!!

I'm pretty much the same body type as you and I had a dress similar to dress #1. The illusion halter made me look like I actually had boobs!

Here are some photos

It was David's Bridal and I just had them change it from a halter to the regular straps. I believe Jim Hjelm makes a similar dress.

The only issue I had with it was that the bustle was kind of heavy and by the end of the night my back was KILLING me. I'm not sure if they can do a different bustle but just beware. I had no idea that would happen. Does that happen to every bride, having another 30lbs of a$$ from the bustle?

They are all beautiful dresses, but I dont think they will complement your body type. When I first went shopping for dresses I brought pics and thought I knew exactly what I wanted. But I realized i had to find what looked good on me not on models. If you say you are hippy I think you should try a-line style. It may draw peoples eye to the smaller upper portion of your body and distract people from the more curvy hips. When you start trying on dresses try all styles and see what complements you best. Anything you wear Im sure your FH will think you look gorgeous!

I like the first one and the last one... the only thing I don't like about the last one is the corset back, but I think I am the only person on the face of the planet who doesn't like them...
