Do you like your first name? Do you have a nickname?

My first name is Maureen which I hated as a child but I really like it now. My nickname is Mo or MoMo. I can't stand to be called Reenie

My daughters name is Nicole and we call her Colie! It started because my son couldn't say Nicole so he called her that! By the way his name is Matthew so I really like your screen name!

Thanks yea FI 's name is Matthew.. I call him Matt but his entire family calls him Matthew.. I never ver call him that I guess because when I met him, I met him as 'Matt'..it stuck..

I LOVE my name-Alison but everyone calls me anything but that! LOL
Most of my family calls me Allie which i Love-i HATE when people call me AL i get alligator, alliecat-among others:) my dad calls me alliebabs lol

Kristin with an I. I love my name EVERYONE calls me Kris which I dont mind at all. what annoys me is KristEn U dont prononce it Krist10 do u???? and I Never use to able to find anything spelled KristIn. I was also name with an I after a murder on the tv show dallas. who knows....

FH hates his name Mike. He says its very annoying when he was a kid and someone would say Michael and 50 people would turn around. I love that name and he says no to naming any children that!

DH is name is Gerard....he hates it. When he was a kid he could never find anything with his name on it.

My at==cat's name is Alexis.....she had it when we adopted her. We like to call her Lexi

I never minded erica...since it wasn't that common...and I liked the fact that Am erica had my name in it...


but there aren't many nicknames - ricki is the biggest...but I usally get Er...and only mom can use Era...


my sister has a nickname everyone uses (Lena for Marlena - can you tell mom is from Germany?) and I was complaining watching a movie with her...and one character was named 'yabbo' so it stuck...now DH and all his friends use it for me...and hence the screenname

i love my name because not many people have it...it actually bothers me when people do because i feel liek i should be the only one!!! and joanna i know what you mean. i dont hate the name danielle, but i HATE when people assume its my name when i introduce myself as dani.

My name is Kelly, but nobody calls me Kelly...it's almost always Kell, except when someone is referring to me. DH and a few others call me Kells.

I like my first name (Rebecca) now, but as a kid I didn't like it. FH calls me Rae because he reduces everyone to one syllable and Beck wasn't working for him. Most of my friends call me Beck or Becca. My mom and her friends call me Becky but I hate when anyone else calls me that. I respond to almost anything though, because the nicknames just keep coming!

My real name is Caterina...I hated it as a child cause people always called me Cathleen...or Catherine. I HATE when people get my name wrong.

My sister calls me Cocky Cathy (ever since I was a kid) my friends call me Cat, Cathy, or kitty-cat.

My name is Juliet (like Romeo) and as a child, I hated my name. I hated the sound of it. I hated saying it. I hated being teased about 'where's Romeo?' Then I got older and had a teacher refer to me as the 'fair maiden Juliet' and I decided that I liked my name a little more. Also, as my classmates and I matured, I got complimented on my name more than teased.

My nicknames are Jules or 'J' NEVER Julie. To me, that is a whole other name, not a nickname for my name.

My middle name is Leigh. My mom chose it because she liked the way it looked on paper and how it sounded. She liked how Juliet has an IE and then Leigh has an EI. I like it too. I think my name has a very dignified old-world sound: Juliet Leigh


FH's name is Krzysztof (Polish for Christopher). His parents call him Krzysiek or Krzysiu) I call him Kris with a 'K'. His middle name is Michal, which is Polish for Michael. He's a Christopher Michael, I am doomed (Mom always told me to be careful of devilish little boys named Christopher or Michael and I got both in one person )

Marcela, my friends call me Marce too.. The only one who calls me Marcy is my Daddy.. Todd calls me Cellie sometimes.. I love my name! =)

My name is Kathleen so I get called Katherine a lot. I also get Maureen, Colleen, anything irish. I like my name, it is part of my identity and my grandmother's name. My friends call me Kat, my family calls me KK for some reason that I will never know, it just stuck!!

I never liked my name growing up, I was so sick of people singing Michelle by the Beatles. I also hate that everyone only spells it with one L, two L's is the more common name.

My brother started to call me Shells and then it morphed into shelzy, and then shelzy - p (my last name starts with a p). My brother, and firends call me shells or shelzy now, but I don't like anyone else to. My FH's sister's boyfriend calls me Shells, and it annoyes me. He is the type that called FH's parents Mom and Pop after first being introduced, he is too familiar.

Ahhh...one of my pet peeves...mispronunciation of my name...It is Shana Michelle (I like the way it flows) but my first name is Shah-nah...say ahhhhh like you're at the dr. It's not Shay-na nor Shawna. But I'll answer to anything remotely similar....the guys at work started calling me Sha-Sha or Shash or just Sha. FI is Richard but I met him as Rich and his family calls him Richy (I just cna't get used to that!!)
