I am not married yet, but as I get closer I keep thinking that soon I will have a new name, it still sounds so weird to me when I say it aloud. I wonder how long it will take to get used to it, right now I dont like it as much as my 'real' maiden name.

I will like my new married name. It sounds similar to mine now. I will keep my maiden name at work though.

I like mine better! His isn't bad, but I have an Italian last name and his is non-ethnic and also mono-syllabic. So my first and last name will have one syllable each - borrriinnnggg!!

Before we got married, I couldn't wait to change my name - My first name and last name both start with an 'M' as do my sister's, my mom's etc. I always thought it was kind of dorky. Now that I changed my name, I miss my old one!

I wish my new name was not hyphenated, b/c I wanted to hyphenate my new name with my maiden now I love my new last name I just wished it was hyphenated with my maiden name.

Re: Do you like your 'new' married name?
Just like Anniegrl and JennRenee, I am going from an Italian last name to a one-syllable one, which will be MUCH easier to spell and pronounce, and sounds nice with my first name (people say it sounds like an author or actress or something) BUT I kinda feel like I'm losing a bit of my ethnicity and identity without my vowel! So, I'm going to use 'em both!

I love my maiden name...but it flows well with his too.
