Do you love your e-ring? Did you have anything to do with picking it out?

I LOVE my e-ring, very me! It is a 3 carat round solitare set in platnium. FH was right on target with no help from me.

Curious to know if you ladies had anything to do with your FI's choice or if it was all on his shoulders.....

Kim, no one is going to say they do not love their e-ring, even if they wanted something different. Looking at the big picture the e-ring is so insignificant. A good question is do you love the family that you have become a part of??

As you can see I am having a rough in-laws, day. I will bear it and grin. I will turn my e-ring in for a rock if things would just get better. Sorry to dampen your thread.

To answer your original question, my ering was designed by me and picked out by me, so it is just what I wanted. I would take another set of inlaws tho' do you know where they have any of those??

wow, sorry if no one liked my question.

I was just making conversation and wondering if ladies went ring shopping with their bf's or if they left magazine's laying around....I didn't do either.

You are right shamma, the e-ring is not the most important thing, and I am lucky enough to love my future inlaws. Sorry you are having a rough day.

You are welcome to post a thread on whether people are happy with the families they are marrying into...

I did not actually pick it out, my my FH knew I wanted 2-tone, and bigets, more than one stone stone. HE GOT THIS ONE RIGHT!!!

I love mine too. I picked it out myself. DH has no interest in jewelry and would have been lost.

I helped pick mine out so I do love it.

As for the in-laws, that's a WHOLE different story - LOL!

My DH knew what I wanted, generally, but he actually designed it himself. Picked out the stone separately (quality was important to him) and then the setting... he did a great job! It's exactly what I wanted and I found a wedding band that goes perfectly with it.

I would be pretty shocked if anyone said they didn't love theirs....
How could you not love the token FH gave you representing the fact the he wants to spend the rest of his life with you

That said, I love mine to death....and he had no input from me at all....

oh, and I love my F-inlaws too....

I WOULD say if I didnt love my ring. Not to my husband of course but to my friends.

I literally am SHOCKED to this day that he picked out the very same ring I would have picked out for myself. Especially since his tastes are so not like mine at all!

To be perfectly honest, sometimes I sort of wish mine were bigger (my ring is 1 ct and i think i would have liked a 1.5 a little better but no more than that) but knowing how much this ring cost, im am happy he got the one he did. Its a beautiful cut, clarity, color and setting - not to mention it came in a a pretty box - so i could not have been happier then or now.

Even after several years, I still just stare at it sometimes.

How can you not stare at it?? ahahha

OK ladies, let me change this subject.....How about...Is it the ring you would have picked out? Or is it your style?

Never would I think I would be getting this kind of response from a meaningless little post.

I am glad you all LOVE your rings.

I love my ring and I loved that DH picked it out all by himself. The only help he kind of got from me was that he knew I didn't want round and that I loved squares (I never knew the technical terms). He searched all over trying to find a perfect square (not that I would have cared if it wasn't perfect) - he did good!

Edited to add - I couldn't have done a better job myself. I can't imagine wanting anything different!

I don't think this post is meaningless - I think it is fun!

Thank you Stephanie. I would admitt if it wasn't my style too. It wouldn't make me love my FI any less.

Your ring is gorgeous by the way! LOVE the little blue box!

I can't complain about mine.

But we had discussed styles, etc. before we even thought about getting engaged. We're pretty much on the same page in taste. I did 'hint' at size though (not that I had to worry, cause he probably would have gotten me the size I wanted anyway.)

My DH picked it out all by himself and then had his sister go to get her opinion. I love my ring and wouldn't change a thing. The only thing I had ever told him was I liked princess cut and I loved platnium. He got me both, so I was very happy.

My post was not meant to be defensive (just re-read it and though it may be construed that way...)
I guess I have just never heard anyone voice dislike for their e-ring....but I guess it happens once in a while....

Anyway - to answer your question, I would have picked out the same ring FH did...but I would have included side stones....I have a Princess cut solitare in platinum and I would love side stones....
FH said maybe on our anniversary.....lol...although we're not even married yet!

either way, i love it!

edited to add - love your ring stef....I would stare at it all day too!!!

FI did it all by himself. I sent him emails of things I liked, but he went to the jeweler and did it all by himself (his cousin went with him I guess for support LOL)

I had no idea about anything
