I think people DO say when they don't love their ring - otherwise there wouldn't be so many women looking to change their settings. Some, on this very site - go figure. So I DON'T think Kim's question was off-putting or rude or senseless (not that anyone said these exact words, but the meaning was implied).

But I digress.

I absolutely love my e-ring. FH knew I wanted something unique and antique...he asked me what I liked and showed me some settings (he bought the stone from someone else)...and he picked out the setting I would have picked on my own. It's absolutely beautiful - it's perfect and very me.

I was SHOCKED at my ring. It's near perfect clarity cut color and size!

He spent way more than i could ever have imagined (my dad taught him about diamonds-thanks daddy!) so NO complaints here and its an investment!

Its the exact one I wanted (I hinted)

I had nothing to do with my ring...nor the timing of the proposal...NOTHING. And, I absolutely love it. I put my trust in my DH and he came through 10 fold. He picked an absolutely gorgeous, near flawless round 1.7 carat center..with 2 1/2 carat pear stones on the side set in high grade platinum. I love it now, always will.

I absolutley love my e-ring and I had nothing to do with it. I was totally suprised with the proposal. It is exactly what I would've picked and was actually shocked when I saw it Plus I knew a lot of love and attention went into my ring since FH designed it and my Dad made it

I LOVE my e-ring!!!

My e-ring is very very special to me, not only b/c FH gave it to me, but because it originally belonged to my Great Grandmother (who I get my middle name from). It is an antique, with an Old European Cut center stone (with a rare closed culet for this type of cut) with beautiful color and clarity, a tapered diamond baguette on each side and a dainty 4-prong platinum band. It really suits me and my personality just perfectly. I love it!!!

By the way - I know many girls who dont love their ering. Either they hate it entirely or they were just disappointed that their FH picked something that was not 'perfect'.

I dont think it means they love their husbands any less.

Its just like if your husband got you a coat you didnt you didnt like. You can love the idea that he wanted to keep you warm, but hate the way the coat looks.

Hi Ladies,

I didn't go ring shopping with my hubby at all. In general conversation, I recall him asking me once what type of ring I liked. To be honest I didn't even know he was thinking about proposing, it was a total surprise to me! That day will forever be etched in my mind. What a beautiful day it was!

I adore my ring! However, as a women who loves jewelry, I would've loved a 100 carat diamond if I could have it.

My hubby bought me what he could afford at the time (1 carat diamond - platinum ban with small bagettes on the sides). He didn't put anything on layaway nor did he put himself in debt.

It's so sad that so many people put such an emphasis on a ring. As many of you know, the size of a ring does not measure how much a man loves you. A ring can replaced or upgraded, but how much a person loves and respects you is priceless!

Kim - sounds like you have a beauty on your finger - congrats! Wear it proudly!

Shamma - I would trade my inlaws ANY DAY! Sometimes I can't believe my wonderful husband is a product of them! They are constantly trying my patience! Girl I'm feeling your pain!! Please don't let them get to you, it's not worth it!

i LOVE my e-ring. fh gave me his grandma's ring, but it was too big and they couldn't resize it that much, so i have the diamonds from the ring and i picked out what setting i wanted.

I will be one to say my e-ring is not what I had envisioned or loved...but I do love it because it was my grandmothers'. I love princess cut diamonds and white gold or platinum...my ring is a round tiffany set solitaire with tapered baguettes set in yellow gold (white prongs)...but to me it's priceless since my grandfather is no longer with us and they had a long and happy marriage. I thought about resettting it to match a wedding band I thought I wanted until FI picked out a wedding band he loved for me and it looked amazing next to my e-ring!

wow - Stef, I have to say, I am suprised....I guess I was lucky (being that I had no input) to get what I wanted.

I can't imagine 'hating' my ring!!!

Are they (the girls you know in this situation) just keeping it even though they hate it to spare their FH's or DH's feelings? or are they changing them?
just curious....

Although I have to say, I think it would be a lot easier to tell my FH that I don't like a coat he bought me than to tell him I hate the e-ring he proposed with

I helped pick mine out, but I think I would have been happy with pretty much anything. I do love my ring though

I love my e-ring. He picked it out i had no idea he was even going to look! the only thing i wanted was a heart shapped diamond and thats what i got! He did GOOD!
