do you love your family to death but find them SO ANNOYING sometimes?!?!?!?! (vent!)
i went dress shopping today with the big fat italian wedding family in tow... i prefer to shop alone or with one other person but agreed to have mom, sister, aunt and grandmother come along. Aunt has a son and will never have the 'experience' of bridal gown shopping.
My sister seems to be the only one on my wavelength of knowing what i like. Her comments are always constructive and eloquently said. But my mom and aunt are always doing the 'psst psst psst' whispering when I walk out in a dress, and if i like something they don't, they make faces and are like 'oh well WE don't like it.' so i freaked in one store and from atop the pedestal i cried out 'TODAY'S MANTRA IS: IT IS LORI'S WEDDINGS! SAY IT WITH ME PEOPLE!! IT... IS...LORI'S... WEDDING!!' Then at one point my mom threw out the 'well I'm the one paying for it' and i freaked out again!!! I have a job and money can very well buy my own **** dress and she keeps INSISTING she pays for it -- I know she means well and i am lucky to have her do this, but DO NOT go throw it in my face to make me like the dress you like!!!!
I think all of this was way too much for poor grandma LOL!!
Anyway the day ended on a good note (and I think I have found my dress already anyway from a previous shopping trip and mom agrees with me on it). But GEEZUS people, i love you, but you drive me up the frickin' wall sometimes.
