Just as the title says. Wanted to check out a bunch that could accommodate 200+, including Vineyard Caterers, Chateau Briand, Fox Hollow, Jericho Terrace, Sandcastle, Windows on the Lake, Venetian Yacht Club, the Hamlet of Commack, and Chateau La Mer.
We are going to some sort of expo at Chateau Briand tomorrow night. Do you generally need appointments to view the others and go over prices?

Re: Do you need appointments to look at RH's?
I think you should make an appt. You dont' want to show up at someone's wedding.

Well, to avoid showing up at someone's wedding we would be there during the day, on a week day. But, we'll call some places. Thanks.

I'm making appointments for all of mine. That way I know I'll have their undivided attention.

I walked into one or two because I was in the area. I just called ahead of time to see if it worked for them. Appts if you can but if you are right by a place I'd give them a call and try and save yourself a trip.

Re: Do you need appointments to look at RH's?
When we were looking at RHs, I found that most places didn't care when we stopped by, as long as it was during the day. Some were pretty tight on the scheduling of appointments, however. One said we could only see the RH between 3:15 and 3:25! Needless to say, that was not an appointment we kept.

Thats nice of you but most RH's work around peoples weddings to show the place. You dont even see them. Just call and ask. It wouldnt hurt

No you can just show up. If there is a wedding going on you can be a wedding crasher and eat some food. Just say that is your tasting.

Wouldn't be the first time. But, clearly I meant we would check it out during a weekday.

Some ppl have day weddings, during the week too. When we went to look at RH, it was a Wednesday, they had sweet 16 parties. The next time we went back, they were setting up for a wedding, that is the best time to go because you can see how everything gets set up. The bride/ groom and bridal party was already there taking pics before the ceremony. Your RH will be able to tell you when the best time is to come. We did not see the set up of our CH room since they didn't use that room.

Re: Do you need appointments to look at RH's?
some rh's require appts but a lot i found just say to come between certain hours of the day and someone will meet with you.... i would try to go as early as possible in the day though or on weekdays so that there are no parties going on and you can get a full tour

Re: Do you need appointments to look at RH's?
We traveled from CT to visit 20+ RH's one weekend and it just wasn't possible to make appointments with each place. We started out very early in the morning and saw as many as we could. 80% of the time I could tell from the outside that it was a 'NO' and 10% of the time I could tell from walking in the front door that it was a 'NO' the other 10% we liked and made appointments to come back. Re: Do you need appointments to look at RH's?
yes make appts. However, if u walk in generally someone will meet with u in between appts.
FH and i went up to New Rochelle and went to Davenport Ave which has about 6 halls in a row and had appt only with one and stopped in a few others hoping we could just meet with them. But we also went the weekend after NYE which is dead. If ur going during the weekday make some appts but it should be easier to just walk in.

Most places require appointments. The two places i know that don't are Jericho Terrace and Westbury Manor.
