I believe that my DJ is going to be playing something during the cocktail hour. I was thinking about getting a harpist, but then decided not to.

We are having music at our cocktail hour.
Our band (or part of it) will be playing at the CH

Our RH has a piano in the CH room that electronically plays. We not not have to pay extra for this.

Im having the trumpets at the church and hall. They will be there a half hour before cocktail greeting people at the door. then the next half hour they will go outside for the cocktail hour. Then the dj is bringing a mini system to play music outisde for the rest

we're considering getting a string quartet or string trio but the only issue right now is if we'll have the extra $$$ for it

We are having our DJ do our Cocktail Hour. You should ask your hall if they could pipe in the music for you (my hall is offering to do it). That would definitely save you some bucks!

right now i have 1 string musician, but i was thinking of adding 2 more pieces(got it through my dj and it's only 350 more to add an extra person)

No, we're not hiring anyone to do cocktail hour music. The hall will play music over their speakers for the cocktail hour - people will be too busy eating to even think about the music!!

I'm still on the fence with this. Our band offered to play during the CH at an extra charge. I don't know if it's worth it bc everyone is talking (loudly) at the CH. When there has been music at CH's I have been to I honestly didn't even notice it.

We got a free coupon for pre recorded cocktail hour music - so we are ust going to go with that.

My hall provides music outside (not live) so I dont think I will get a trumphet or anything - my mom suggested for me to get it, but I'm not too crazy abt it - Id rather spend the $$ on something else

Same here. But if we have the CH outside, our hall does not have music so we are having our DJ play music outside.

My band provided a piano player and a sax player. We had piano and flute for the ceremony and the flute player is also the sax player.

There is a beautiful white grand piano in the cocktail hr room..how could I just leave it there not played?
