Do you really have to put stamps...

Original post by angelinasingleton

on the response envelopes? Is it too much to ask people to put a stamp on it themselves?

But considering the fact that I have a bunch of numbnuts who couldn't manage dropping a postage paid envelope in the mail to reply... I would say your chances of receiving responses will be GREATLY reduced if you give your invitees the additional step and responsibility of seeking out postage.

I agree! Stamp that baby!!

Mine's a postcard too, but it's larger than the usual one so I used the $.39 wedding stamp, you know, the ones with the lavender and green stamps. I think my invitations probably didn't need $.63 of postage, but whatever. But I'm not worried about people not understanding that mine are postcards, they say 'Postcard' right on them! It's an Art Nouveau design that my printer came up with. Only problem was that the back was blank so I stamped them with flowers--can't have something blank, now, can we? Not when I can decorate it! Lemme see if I have a pic.

Do it b/c people are posting that they are having a hard enough time getting guest to respond with response cards that are stamped.

Not stamping them gives people another excuse not to sent it in.

One question:

Do you want to save time and money on stamps or save time and aggravation when you get few back because people forget to go to the post office and then have to make a million phone calls?

Yeah I think it's necessary. I bet if you don't put stamps on it some people would drop it in the mail without a stamp! So to save yourself headaches later on, I'd say to put stamps.

I'd probably drop the thing in the mail without looking, just because it's more commonly done to have them on there already.

I would say yes. I did. If I reecived an invitation, I would expect to see a stamp on the RSVP envelope.

I agree, I don't want to give people any excuses not to return them on time.

yes, you do. keep in mind, some guests can hardly be bothered to mail the card back already stamped. imagine they also had to stamp it? you'd never see any.

I think you should....I have never gotten a wedding invite where the respose envelope didnt have a stamp on it.
