Ok so I booked just the DJ with no MC, they wanted to charge me double for both. Do you really need an MC, I have a huge Italian family that idosent need much to get on the dance floor. Who got both the DJ/MC and why?

I guess I'm the odd ball here...I plan on using both a DJ and MC... but the MC isn't annoying or cheesy... he works great hand in hand with the DJ... Plus, it's not that much extra for me, so I would rather it. JMO... If they are going to charge you THAT much extra for one, then no, I wouldn't bother getting one... just a waste of money then...
nope odd ball here too lol...im having one and we could actually pick how involved we wanted him..we picked medium so he will announce and get it started but wont be dragging people out seats
Exactly... I never saw that at a wedding either. I would prolly get annoyed as a guest! LOL. FH doesn't like to dance till he's drunk!! HAHA... soo... having a MC come over to him in front of the whole place...he'd be moritfied!! I made sure that the MC wouldn't be gay like taht! HAHA

we had a DJ/MC one man that does both and we loved it! He was out on the dance floor dancing with my aunt.

The quotes I received had the option of the DJ acting as an MC too (i.e. announcements). I agree MC's can be a little cheezy so I think I am just going to get a DJ.

We were worried about this too. We got both a DJ and MC b/c we believed they make the party more alive, simialar to a band leader. We would tell them to tone his involvment down so he is not annoying, but a presence is still nice to have.
