Oh I remember... and we were both drunk LOL. We were outside Morrison's on Metropolitan Avenue and he kept looking at me like he wanted to say something and then finally he said it. I had been wanting to say if for a while but couldn't get up the nerve so I'm so glad he said it first. I asked him the next morning if he remembered what he said the night before in his drunken state and he said I sure do and repeated it

too cute. FH was drunk also, he had gotten into an argument with a long time friend, and he called me really late, and went on about how he is tired of people coming in and out of his life and hopes i dont do this bc he loves me. I didnt say it back bc i chopped it up to 'oh hes drunk', but the next day we went out and he said 'you know i mean it when i say i love you' .. ahh i was so happy and of course i said it back bc i knew from our first kiss that i never wanted any one else again!

We were 16 and we were in the car (my dad was driving) us to the mall so we can get dinner for our month anniversary...this sounds really pathetic...he wrote I love you on a text and showed it to me and then repeated it later that night. I said it back but I really didn't mean it I was 16!!!!!

Saying I love you was a big thing for us. Believe it or not...we were together for almost a year before we said it to each other! I don't know why, but I think we just felt like it was a big step...when we said it, we wanted to mean it with all our hearts and not just because we should.

We were laying in my dorm room bed one night (I had my own room) quietly, and I just worked up the courage to say 'You don't have to say it back but I need to say this: I love you.' And he said that he was ready to say it too because he knew it was true...and he did.

he said it first... in the form of a text since we were long distance at the time and I was out at a bar with my friends...

he texted me with 'ily' ... I waited til the next day to talk with him about it, but, he meant it.... and said it to me on the phone then.

Thanks for bringing up this topic Michelle, i'm all warm and fuzzy now!

The first first time was YEARS ago (when we were both in HS). FH swears that he said it first, but honestly...I can't remember. I thought I did!

This time around (it's our 2nd time dating) he said it first. We had just started talking about maybe possibly seeing if we wanted to give it another shot, when he told me he loved me, and always had.

i said it first! it slipped out and it was very EARLY on, but he was very receptive and said it back!!!

FH and I had been dating for about a month and a half at the time. We were in his parents basement just cuddling on the couch and watching a movie and he whispered in my ear 'you know i'm so lucky to have met you, I've never been this happy before and you don't have to say anything but I have to tell you that I love you.' I didn't say it back right away because I was so caught off guard. I knew that I loved him but it was the first time one of my boyfriends ever said it to me and I too, had never said it to any of my previous boyfriends before him.

It was so sweet and simple yet it was one of those little moments I'll never forget

Sounds very similar to us too. We were in the fraternity house though, since we lived there and not the dorms. I remember saying 'you don't have to say it if you aren't ready, but I wanted to let you know I love you'....he didn't say it for a couple days

You girls got me all teary eyed!! Everyone has such great memories! Geez I am so emotional today.

I remember the first time Fh said it to me was a sunday night (the one night a week I usually slept at my own house). It was the premeire of the Kendra show on E!, and as I was getting ready to leave he said to me 'You know you got me to watch this dumb show, obviously I am in love with you.' It was sweet in his own special way lol. I said it back and moved in about a month and a half later.

I've been wanting to say it since a month after we started dating, so I came up with a solution...'I heart you.' So we would say that to each other all the time. It wasn't until we both were away, FH in North Carolina for NCAA and I was back home after ECAC (All Track and field btw). We were on the phone chatting away and there was a quiet moment and out of nowhere he says, 'I really love you...OMG I heart you! haha' I told him it was ok because I was waiting for one of us to finally say it. He didn't say it to me in person until we both got back to our respective schools and met up for dinner. I don't think I'll ever forget that!

Yup it was only a couple months into dating and we were laying on his couch at his mom's house and he goes i have something to tell you but im afraid of how you will take it

Of course im thinking the worse, and he said that he loved me

i actually said it first...

we were at our first nfl game together and we were at the hotel after the game laying in bed and i just turned to him and told him i loved him and hes said it back!!

I remember as if it was yesterday...
We were on the phone on New Years Day(2:00Am)...
He was telling me how much He miss me... He was in NJ by this time (and we were NOT going out yet but we were just seeing each other)... Then he said...
'Sabe que nena, Te amo Veronica' (U know what baby girl, I love you veronica) and It felt good and i just wish i was next to him instead of being on the phone...

Then the first time i told him I love him was on his bday (2/6)... as he was cutting his little soccer cake i got him.. I wisper 'I love you baby' into his ear... he hugged me SOO hard and kissed me!!!!!!!!

I definitely remember the first time. It was during the first week we met. We were laying on my bed just chatting away, and he told me how he's never met someone so amazing, and how in the short time he's known me he knows I'm the one for him and then told me he loves me. I don't think I told him back that same day, it took me a few more days and then I fessed up :P

Haha Mine went the same way! We were laying in his bed and he said the same thing. My initial response was something like 'Ok thanks!' and 'me too' lol I just wasn't ready yet..but it didn't take me too long after that to say it back.

we were out at a bar 2 months into dating with one of FH's college friends he hasn't seen for years. FH was trashed, we're talking can barely stand trow up trashed and in the mist of being trashed he grabbed me in the bar and hugged me and said I love you. I kinda laughed and replied well if you do you'll tell me tomorrow morning when your sober. So I was living home at the time and we went from the bar back to my house where FH proceeded to pass out. We woke up the next morning (he called in sick to work, I still had to go in) and he said you know what I said last night about loving you? Well I meant it, I love you. So I kissed him and said I love you too and left. Which I meant it, the week before I was in vegas with gf's adn realized then how much I missed him and that I was in love with him. It was realy the first time we were apart. He told me later that was when he realized he was in love with me too


now i'm all mushy!

hmmmmm....this is a very hard one to explain. We had been 'seeing' each other for over a year when it happened. When we first got together I was on a rebound and he was still in a relationship, sooooo it was complicated to say the least. Anyhow he had told me many times that he never says I love you unless he means it and that his ex that he was with when I met him said I love you to him all the time but he never said it back. __________Side Note: Who would stay with someone for 2 years when they never return the I Love You????______________anyhow....I was lying bed with him and I looked up at him and said 'Can I tell you something serious?' and he said 'yes, you can tell me anything' 'I love you' and he returned it right away with 'Oh babe, I love you too!' Very fond memory!!!
