I love it because it's not too child-like so they can use it for a long time.

Do you think should I go with something more age appropriate, like princess and ballerina jewelry boxes? (2nd and 3rd pic)

I love the first one, and I agree she will get more use out of it. Maybe put a small princess or ballerina figurine inside?
