Do you think it is messed up

that my FMIL hasn't seen me in my dress yet? I see on here a lot that FMIL go with you to your fittings etc. When I bought all my bm (including FSILs) to look for bm dresses at the store where my dress was at, FMIL was busy that day so she didn't come. They live about an hour away, so I don't think its a big deal, but I just wanted to hear everyone's opinion on this

NOt at all....tradition is just mom...or whomever you are close to...if you include the fmil..great..but if not...no biggie.
I'll probably let my fmil come to my first fitting...and no more....then its a surprise for everyone!

not a big deal. Send her a pic!! Or maybe ask her if she wants to see you in it or wants to wait for the big day...

I don't think so. My FMIL hasn't even seen a picture of my dress. I'm not holding back on purpose. I was raised by my Dad so I'm nto used to having a mother figure type person to do these things with me, so I just do them myself.

nope

my fmil told me she didnt want to see it till the wedding bc she wanted it to be a surprise..

The only ones that have seen my dress is my mom and sister. I wont even show it to any of my bms

I dont think its a big deal. I am very close with my FMIL so I would never have thought of going without her-besides my mom is in Michigan

nah, i don't think it's a big deal. my FMIL lives in San Diego, CA and I purchased my dress in NY (even though I live in AZ). i did show her a picture of the dress, but she won't actually see it on me until the wedding. it's more a matter of logistics for us though.

I don't think that it is messed up at all. My dress was the first thing that I did for my wedding and when I told my FMIL that I have my dress and asked if she wanted to see a picture of it (she lives in Florida). She said that she would love to but she wanted to wait to see me in my dress on my wedding day. She said she wants to be surprised when she sees me that day.

I don't really think so. It just depends. My FMIL lives in Alaska so she hasnt been a part of the planning at all. If she wanted I would show her a dress, but I would actually like to keep it a surprise to anyone other than my mom, sisters and bp if i can But hey, if you want her more involved, you can always share it with her, at least pics if you can't arrange for her to see you in the actual dress.

I don't think it is a big deal..My FMIL seemed a little bent out of shape when I told her I bought my dress. She was like 'I would have come with you.' She only has sons, so I think she wanted in on that experience...but I also want it to be a surprise the day-of.

not at all...My mother has gone w/ me and my MIL has seen the dressonly from a picture. I don't mind if she comes, I just felt it was a special time for my mother and I

I agree, it's not a big deal. My FMIL went shopping with me, but my mom lives in VA.

Not at all…
This past Sunday was the first time I went dress shopping and my FMIL came.
So she saw me try on some possible dresses but I don’t think she will see me in my dress until the day of the wedding.
I think I’ll keep it a secret from everyone until the big day!!!

Forget about FMIL- my own mother hasn't seen my dress. Only my sister has. My mom didn't want to come.

Oh well...now she has to wait until June when it comes in.
