Do you think this is pushy??

Do you think this is pushy??

Okay so I got a call from a 516 number and didn't answer because I did not recognize the caller. So I listen to the message, and it is a woman's voice saying 'This is **** calling from **** Limousine Service. I'm calling to set up an appointment for your transportation for the day of your wedding. Please call me at 516-***-****. Thank you.'

I've never even heard of this limo service as I have not even begun to look at limo companies. I never contacted these people. I don't mind receiving advertisements via email or USPS but I think it is pushy to call me up and tell me they are going to set up an appt. with me. They didn't even say they were calling to see if I was even interested in them. Idk, am I being ridiculous?? Or is that a little inappropriate?

I've gotten so many calls from vendors that are like that...They ask to set up an appointment and I say no!!! One even said they would send a limo to pick me up

I wouldnt stress about those kinds of calls, your gonna get them every once in a while.

I feel like if they have to call us and harass us to get business then they can't be too good.

The worst was that I had a photographer call me and i said i booked my photographer already. The lady sounded annoyed and then had the nerve to ask me after 'well who did you book with' it was none of her business, why ask me that and i booked already so whats the point, was she going to convince me to cancel that person and book them lol. I told her, well its none of your business really but if you must know the person i picked is... and let me say that she didnt say 'oh who did you book with' she asked in a nasty way

Yes I think that is very pushy. They are not going to get much business leaving messages like that. I always think that if they need to advertise in that way, there must be something wrong with them.

Its annoying...I used to get those calls all the time. I'd just ignore them, let it go to VM and forget about it.

ooohhh i cant stand this--

the e-mails really annoy me too for some reason, especially when i find typos--at which point i e-mail them back and say that they have a typo in their mass e-mail

kind of nasty myself but oh well

it's just a sales tactic. I do a lot of sales for my job. It actually works a lot of the time to assume the potential client wants to meet with you and sign up. I don't think it's particularly pushy.

Hey cuz It is annoying but vendors you inquire about and/or hire ie RH band searches give your # to others they promote. It is very rude and a lot have called me saying the same thing like 'are u ready to book us bc we are expecting you too'. Hate to say it but get used to it.

Re: Do you think this is pushy??

Actually this isn't a vendor that the Garden City Hotel recommends, it's just some random company. It is really ridiculous and I am not going to be calling them back!! lol I really don't mind the emails, since they're not intrusive and they're just advertisements. But don't call me and say you are calling to set up an appt. when I have NEVER SPOKEN TO YOU BEFORE OR CONTACTED YOU BEFORE IN MY LIFE!!! lol.. ugh.. yuck.
