I remember when FH and I got engaged, I wanted to get married right away and he wanted to wait a year and a half. I was so upset but agreed. Well, now that we are right around the corner, I am thinking to myself, how the hell did I think I could have done all this planning in six months. Do you think you could have done it all in 6 months??

Yep. I wish I had. There was A LOT of down time after you initially book vendors. We waited a year to give us time to save $$$$

I planned my wedding in less than 10 months and I do not think it was difficult at all. Although 6 months would be harder to pull off, I think it would be fine and I know people who pulled off an entire wedding in only 3months. So it definately can be done.

I actually know some one who got engaged on christmas day and got married April 8th the next year so just about a three month engagement. Now in my opinion they did it yes but... was the worst wedding i went to EVER!! The place was nice ( elegante catereres in Massapequa) but it was sooo crowded

I got engaged January 1st, booked the hall on January 5th, and picked my dress by the 11th.
I needed to get all of my vendors booked by February, since I was goign into tax season, and only had sundays off. So we looked every night at different vendors and were all booked by February.

We did it! We got enagaged 2-14-02 and planned to get married 07-05-02. Then in mid June we had to postpone our date (thanks USAF!) and in August we found out when my husband would have leave and we got married 9-27-02. We used all our orginal vendors, they all worked with us to be part of our day! We got AMAZING deals because we booked so late and many vendors realized if they didn't have the date booked yet, that we were their last hope! It was awesome! We had tons of little details which made our wedding special and got all the vendors we wanted and were very happy with all of them, well except our DJ! Moneywise we are still suprised we were able to pull it off, but we did do it!

NO. Because it is harder to do long distance. I don't get the chance to come home every month and meet with vendors and stuff so I need the time to work out visits. I also need the time to let all of our OOT guests about our 'destination' NY wedding. It can be done but I personally would have been too stressed out. I had a 16 month engagement and being down to almost 4 months, the last year flew by. I am glad we had a long engagement, I like being engaged

I couldn't do it!!! Only because I am WAY too disorganized!!! I am a total procrastinator too!!! I would probably be planning the honeymoon the day before!!!
ETA:: I love a long engagement too!!!
