Ok this is SO random. But I live for Starbucks, it is really so good. When I order my drink, I do feel obligated to tip since there is that cup right there in plain view, but at the same time it is SO $$$ for a Grande drink that I kind of don't want to tip. The actual amount of time required to ring me up and make my drink is a minute - UGH tipping guilt. So do you tip?

I don't tip - 1) my chai costs a lot as it is and 2) I wonder how often tips in those tip jars actually GO to the employees!

not a starbux tipper here. ugh! i'm feeling a bit guilty now but every time hub and i go we spend $8 on 2 drinks. pretty costly! that's when i don't feel as bad...

I'm friends with the baristas at the starbucks i go to, and when the manager isn't around, they undercharge my drinkb significantly, so I try and tip them a little for that - I mean, I would have paid that amount anyway - or I just give them the change I get from the drink (coins - not bills!)

I have the guilt too. I always tip excessively, so it is hard not to tip. I started to reload my Starbucks card so I can just use that and thus there is no change for tipping So sad!

The Starbucks by me got yelled at and were told to take away their 'tip cup'.
Some jobs that ask for tips, not necessarily Starbucks, really have nerve. They get paid well, not everyone deserves a tip.

I can buy a whole can of coffee for the same price as one cup in Starbucks. The only tip they get from me is to lower their prices!

I am so glad to hear this from all of you!! I kept feeling like I should feel guilty after I just paid $4 for a cup of coffee. I don't get tipped for doing my job!

Yes, I always tip. But, I used to work at Starbucks when I was in high school. I really appreciated the extra tips at the end of the week - it really made up for all the crazy shi!t people asked you to do. You'd be surprised! There was one guy who HAD to have his milk steamed to 175. You really can't re-heat milk and get a good foam on top. So, even if I had milk at 160, I'd have to get a whole new pitcher and start from scratch. And the guy was SUCH as a$$ about it, but I don't think other people should have to make up for that (though it was appreciated!).
I always tip, no matter what I get because I know what it's like to serve coffee for 8 hours a day but that's just me. Not everyone does it and that's fine

No. That's ridiculous. They're just doing their jobs. Everyone wanta tip these days. I don't get it. Should I tip the lady at the cash register at macy's next time? How about my lawyer, should I tip him?
it's way overboard.
At Starbucks as far as i know they get paid full wages, not waiter wages, so no tip

i do tip because i go to the same one all the time and they know my drink by heart and always greet me so friendly and make my morning. my mom usually has her drink waiting for her when she walks in
