A colleague and I just discussed this and just curious to others comments. We were talking about a couple other co-workers who we can't understand.

I dont trust anyone at work...I have gotten burned too many times!!

I trust no one to be honest. Its actually one of my biggest issues I have to deal with. I always think people are lieing and sometimes it can be destructive to relationships.
Although, I trust my family and dh...its hard to trust others.

When it comes to work I never trust anyone. No one cares about you, all they care about is how to make themselves better and if you get burned oh well they are ahead.
I trust a very small amount of people. Family I never trust. I have been burned too many times by family

My job encourages backstabbing at every turn...so no way!
Outside work, the only people I trust completely are my husband and my father.

I don't trust anyone who tells me I can trust them! I have made a few friends at work over the years but its generally one person per office, if at all. Luckily, I can *usually* tell whether I can trust a person or not, and if I'm unsure, I keep my mouth shut!

Seeing as I met my FH at work...yes, I think you *can* trust co-workers. Just depends on who they are as *individuals* and not lumped up in the 'co-worker' category. We both have a very small group of work friends...outside of work, I have a small group of friends that I've had from 8-29+ years.
After being burned - by friends & family - I don't display my trust on my sleeve. Not that anyone has to work for it...but I trust my initial instincts a lot more than I used to. Only a select few in my close circle even know who the 'real Colleen' is.

There are very few people I trust and everyday more and more come off my list!!
People are usually only out for themselves so how could you trust that?
Even your closest friends who you think you can trust, probably are trustworthy!!

I am close to a friend from my old job. And I am close to a friend at work now. But she is coocoo like me sometimes so she can relate to my quirky behaviour. But only to a handful of people can I tell them EVERYTHING.
