I use it but if you don't use it everyday like they want you to your face can become very oily or at least mine does. When I first started using it as well my face was so dry. It had helped me big time though as I would break out all the time and never really do anymore since I have used it.

I've used it. It worked at first then stopped working. One thing I found was that I always had you use it. If I stopped then my face would get worse- it was like my face got addicted to it.
I have since stopped and now use Cetaphil Gentle cleansing lotion, It's only one step and not 3 and works a whole lot better for me.
edited for spelling

I agree. It only works if you use it as directed.

I used it over a year ago and it was amazing...and i just started using it again this past weekend. It also gets rid of every blackhead on your nose and makes your skin very smooth. I def recommend it, but buy cetaphil moisturizer bc the first time using it will dry out your skin

Re: Do you use proactiv? (with poll)
I work in a spa and got some good info. on Proavtiv. The facialist said that proactiv only treats your skin superficially. So it appears to work but deep down it's only putting chemicals into your face. Your skin was made to take care of itself. When you put a lot of crap on it, it gets lazy and doesn't do the work itself of hydrating and stuff. That's why some of you said your skin gets worse if you stop..b/c it gets dependent on it. While you are young at least and your skin still can take care of itself, you should try to use as little junk as possible. She suggested a pure line like Jurlique or Dr. Haushka.... which are expensive but at least they are pure. Think about it ....whatever you put on your skin gets absorbed into your body (including shampoos, soaps, and lotions with chemicals) so you have to be careful of what you use. a lot of purists say don't put on your body what you wouldn't put in your body.

I've tried it and it works great however, due to an allergic reaction to the benzoyl peroxide after the third day my face swelled up so bad I could hardly open my eyes. my acne was completely gone after only 2 days lol but because of the reaction I couldn't use it anymore.

Completely makes sense but I've been using desert essence which is organic cleanser with tea tree oil and it's doing nothing. I've gone back to using the creams the dermatologist gave me. I'm so lost.

I noticed the pro-active dried out my skin TOO much. I use Sage products which are very nice for all types of skin. www.sageskincare.com

Re: Do you use proactiv? (with poll)
i read the ingredients of pro active and could not see anything different than over the counter.
i have very bad skin- my pimples COME FROM DRY SKIN- most people think its only from oily skin but not so true! proactive is very drying so i def cant use it.
a few weeks ago i had pimples and eczema on my face. i couldnt take it i was going crazy!!! i was using every product possible- 'good stuff' too but it was not working so i went to doctor . he said STOP using everything completely and 48 hours my skin cleared up!!!!
i only use aveeno moisturizing bar soap now. and thats it ! its gross and its like clay and has no smell and it disappears under water so keep ur soap dish away from water. but its all worth it.

Yes. The dermatologist said the same thing. Mine actually told me not to use it because of the dependency factor and that in the end, once I stop it will get worse.
They recommended using simple stuff, so I switched back to Cetaphil cleanser and an Aveeno moisturizer.

I ordered it for my sister. She absolutely loves it. I tried it but it dried out my skin. I guess it depends on the person. But they do have a money back guarantee so try it.

I used it for a while before the wedding but I didn't notice any great improvement. Now I use Shiseido products and I LOVE it. I also use the Clarisonic brush cleaning device. My skin has never looked so good. It has actually reduced the appearance of scars on my face from old acne.
