I just find it odd writing a thank you to my mother, my sisters or DH's mother or SIL. It just seems to formal?

I would, they usually are the one's who deserve the most thanks.

Didn't have my wedding yet but I agree! They are the most special - I'll be writing them NOVELS!!! I did for my shower thank you's!
