Do You Write Thank You Notes To Sister or Mother?

I don't even know this but must you write thank you notes to your immediate family who you see often?

I just find it odd writing a thank you to my mother, my sisters or DH's mother or SIL. It just seems to formal?

I think absolutely it just shows them that you are thinking about them. My mom is paying for our wedding and I still sent her an invite! she laughed but I think she enjoyed getting one! so I say Yes!

i'm writing shower notes now, but i wonder if the same applies for wedding thank you notes?

i guess i have to send one to even my mother and sister, and MIL/SIL?

It really just seems sooo formal!

Yes! I think they are the most important people to thank. They're the only ones that I wrote a litte something special to.

I did for my engagement gifts (that's the point we are up to so far) and they really appreciated it. I know you feel funny about it but I agree that family is the most important.

Yes I did for my shower. Since my mom and sister planned my shower I got them special hallmark thank you cards. I didnt use the plan ones I sent to everyone else. I know they did so much work to make it perfect for me so I felt they really deserved a huge thank you. I even mailed my moms and I live with her.

You absolutely should write them thank you notes to let them know how much you appreciate what they have done for you or gave you.

I sent one to my Mother and SIL who threw the shower for me. It really allowed me to share with them in writing how much I really appreciated everything they did. My Mom kept her note with my wedding stuff to remember.

I think that you should always write thank you notes, no matter what. Especially for the people who have done the most to help you out! It's a nice gesture that means so much.

I would go a little further and send them a very nice card other than the generic thank you card you are sending to the guests...

It is always a nice touch to send a note to a family member (even mom and siblings) to say thank you.
