DOC- Cheeky- Do I need????

Original post by Lauren615

So I met with them and they were SUPER sweet and all but I am just really debating if this is something I should be spending money on! I am SO organized and really feel I am on top of all my planning...just not sure if it is worth paying someone $1,000 to make sure the placecards/pictures are exactly where I want them, etc. Hoping my RH can figure it out....

Part of me is thinking it will take some stress away to have them there but another part is saying I really dont need it!

Anyone have any advice on this?! I am so confused!!!

I'm using Cheeky, and so far I've booked most of my vendors through their referals! They're much more than a DOC, even if you book them for that. They're extremelly reliable and always open and willing to answer any questions that you may have. Also, they care! Jamie and Heather are now like friends rather than wedding planners. HTH!

THIS! I booked them for full planning....but like everyone else said even if you use them for DOC, they have so many connections. Although they have been there before I even picked a date, I got great deals through using them and they are wonderful negotiators when it comes down to the bottom line. And that's all the stuff they help with leading up to the day.....totally worth the money I think!

I booked with A modern day affair....they were lifesavers!!!! It cost less then $600

This! We have rehersal and day of covered by AMDA. Although I have had time, and wanted to, do all the preplanning, I want someelse in charge during the actual event. I do not want to worry if they laid out my jordan almonds the way I wanted while I am walking down the aisle!

I agree completely, although I have enjoyed the preplanning and some DIY I want someone else running the show that day. A DOC knows exactly where everyone and everything is supposed to be and makes that happen for you. I am using Cynthia Ross Affairs and Cindy has been fabulous.

Can someone FM any packages/rates you have from any DOCs?

Heather & Jamie from Cheeky were worth every dollar that we paid them. They were one of my favorite vendors and I would highly recommend that if hiring a DOC fits into your budget, you do it. It takes away more stress the last month then you will ever know.

I had the exact same thoughts!!! I'm incredibly organized, but I just feel like because I personally have a ton of STUFF that will need to be displayed a certain way that I want it because I'm clearly very anal about things (haha) that it really was worth it for me to splurge and have that peace of mind that someone else who is specifically working for me and not the RH will take care of every thing to my liking.

Wow, that totally sound 'Bridezilla'-ish... I swear it wasn't meant to come across that way & I SWEAR I am not one!

Haha 2013bride!!! We are date twins too just I am 2014!! I am debating doing the 6 hr package bc I really don't think once the party is really going I would need them? I think they'd be way more helpful with organization and the details before the party! You also don't sound like a bridezilla!!!!!

Thanks to all of you ladies for the help

I'm booked with cheeky and paying under $1000 for DOC. If you book them for a small amt of Time it's not expensive!!

Ahh! That's awesome that you're a 5/31 bride too! I didn't even realize that!! Good day!
I am booked with AMDA and I felt that the reason I needed a DOC is more for the set-up, so we booked half day as well. My priest does the set-up for the church decorations & then we have like, 3 hours in between the ceremony & cocktail hour and that would just be unnecessary. So I recommend that if you're organized & have every thing together & your main concern is making sure things are in place how you want them to be, then a half day DOC is worth the stress off your mind!

I was very strict with my budget but booked Cheeky Glam for a partial package and spent under $1000. (way less than $1000. They came in the morning, and left after cocktail hr. They were FANTASTIC!!!! Read my review. My DH who was aganist having one, told me that was a GREAT DECISION. The amount of stress you will feel towards the days leading to the wedding day will be much more relieved with Cheeky.

Heather and Jamie are more than DOCS, they CARE and LOVE what they do. They have professional experience in the industry. They have connections that they have gained because of their work and reputation.

The Matire D' and bridal assistant work for the venue and your DOC works for you. They care for you. To me, that is a big difference.

Maybe you can ask them to work with you on a budget you can afford.

They are worth every penny and then some!

I don't think DOC are worth it if you are am organized person. Everything that needs to be organized at the RH you can bring a couple of days before the wedding and leave post it notes explaining what you want the BM and Matire D' to do with the place cards, table numbers, bathroom baskets and whatever else you bring. As far as tips, you make a bunch of envelopes labeled photographer tip, DJ tip, shuttle driver tip, etc and you give the tip envelopes to your dad, or someone else in the family that is good with that stuff, and that's it!

IMO you really don't need a DOC- my Matire D' Pam is great and I kinda feel like she is a DOC, and if your Matire D' is the same way, then that is usually the role that they play at your wedding

I booked Once Upon an Event as my DOC. Their prices were SUPER affordable and for how little they charge, it was worth it for me to have the extra peace of mind. I want to be able to relax and enjoy my day.

This!! I would not spend $1000 on a DOC but Once Upon an Event is very affordable and they are great. They are actually have a 2013 discount right now too.

Can you FM the quote you got and what the 2013 discount?

Thanks!
