Ive done it. Ive gone to lunch during the week to the bar and put back a few. Nothing like coming back to work a little 'happy'.

i hardly drink these days ... but at my old office, me and the girls always went out for liquid lunches at least once a week (mind you, they are big drinkers and I am not.. so it only took a margarita for me to be totally knocked out for the afternoon!!)
Lately I WISH I had the desire to drink b/c my office gives me a total headacke
I still meet my old friends for 'wine weeks' that are held twice a year in NYC. Its so much fun! But I really should just go home after those lunches, because I cannot handle my wine at all, and you wind up drinking at least 8 different wines (or more)before you are out of there

I was having a rough day at my externship yesterday and my supervisor looked at me and said, 'Jackie, you look like you need a drink!' She completely read my mind! I've never had a liquid lunch, but I have had drinks with dinner and then gone to class....lots of fun!

I would SO get fired too. But on many a Friday afternoon in a room full of crazed 8th graders, I know I thought about hunting down the about-to-retire co-worker who always kept a bottle of vodka in her desk...

OMG me too! I would get fired and not even be awake enough to care. Even one drink would make me sleepy.

The problem with me is, I wouldn't know how to stop at one drink and be wasted for the rest of the day!!! Thats why I never do liquid lunches!!

I've done it before -- during those long leisurely, vendor paid lunches - had me a few glasses of wine and come back to the office absolutely useless.
Sadly, for the most part those carefree, irresponsible days of drinking during the day are over and are just memories of my college days.

I manage a conference center so occasionally during cocktail receptions, I bring a glass of wine back to my office to finish some work! It actually makes the work much easier!!

The worstr was at disney this past june. My back was KILLING me and I just wanted to go back to the room and go to sleep but we had plans to go for lunch at the rainforest cafe. I was miserable and crying and FH had forgotten my meds in the room. He said 'trust me, come for lunch'..and he had me order a drink. I ended up with a STRONG, HUGE Mai Tai, and I was TOASTED, and my back didn't bother me at all. After lunch we were walking back to the bus and I was half giggling and loud and half asleep. I went back to the room and slept like a rock..and I never sleep soundly. I'm always saying I never sleep well. And FH says 'I know..except for that one time....' EFS
