I have in the past and want to start a new project soon. I also love to knit, but don't do it enough!

Re: Does anyone Cross Stitch?
Hey - another knitter! I love to knit too, and am trying to work up some of my own patterns, but just don't seem to find enough time. I cross stitch too, but have found my eyesight is getting worse - time for new glasses again, so that take some of the fun out.
My latest craft obsession is a floral design class I'm taking - mostly silk flowers, but some fresh too. We've done a wreath, an arrangement in a vase and a swag and I'm loving it!

I also cross stitch but not as much as I'd really like to. I don't have as much time for it lately and it is harder for me then it use to be due to losing part of my eyesight.

Jodi - have you tried using an Ott light? It's a true color spectrum bulb and I find it helps me a lot in seeing where I need to stitch. I haven't compared it to the GE true spectrum bulbs, but they are along the same lines as the Ott light.

Karen,
What I have trouble with is following the graph because I lost my right peripheral vision in both eyes.

Sorry to hear that Jodi It's just not as fun to do when it's a struggle to see what you're doing is it.
I find I get tired after about 30 minutes, where I used to be able to stitch all night. I just have the typical trouble seeing things in detail close up and I've started using a magnifier that hangs on my neck, but it's cumbersome.

Re: Does anyone Cross Stitch?
2 years ago when my brother got engaged I of cours HAD to stitch a wedding piece for them. Because of time constraints and the fact that it is harder to do I didn't finish it in time for the wedding but they got it as a christmas gift. I am determined to stitch one for FH & myself. I already started it but it will NEVER be done in time for the wedding.
but it will get done someday & hang in out home!

Take your time! I have been known to take years to finish something- and more years to get it framed!

Re: Does anyone Cross Stitch?
I usually frame things myself. Maybe for our first anniversary I'll have my piece done.
I have a big piece I started about 8 years ago that I haven't finished.
