I left work early to do my winter/summer clothing swap. I feel like I just want to get rid of 80% of my winter clothes and start fresh next year! Does anyone else get the urge to purge their wardrobe??

I definitely do the yearly switch! Once the season is over I go through the closet and see what I haven't worn in months and I donate it. Leaves more room for me to go and buy a few new things for the new season.

LOL this is why the 4 of us get a long so well. I'd bet money Jessie also has personal relationships with some of her clothing items!
We should shop. I NEED to find the perfect pair of espadrilles.
OK I am obsessed with espadrilles...seriously i have 3 pairs from last summer and i need more...
My favorite cheap a$$ pair from mandee broke, and I haven't found a suitable replacement!! We must go on a quest...

Re: Does anyone else do this? Clothes related.
I am so bad at getting rid of old clothes. I finally went through my closet with one of my BMs and she forcefully made me get rid of a lot of clothes. Things from HS, things I haven't worn in years, awful quality, shrunk, etc. It was hard but I needed it.
I finally did the same to some extent here this week -- I have a drawer of old tshirts and stuff from Forever21 type stores that I can't even wear out anymore but I still have them for some reason. I have a big stack of things to bring to the local thrift store, and I went shopping yesterday and bought some new clothes that I can actually wear to class and to work this summer (business casual). I feel like my wardrobe was a bunch of suits/business attire, a bunch of crappy old embarrassing clothing, and nice jeans and purses.
I also went through a 2 foot stack of papers that were on my dresser since my first semester of law school and am finally throwing out papers i will never need again. I am such a pack rat

I have a similar problem...I don't have much from high school, but as soon as I pull something out of the closet, I think....well...I might need to wear this someday...and put it back....I guarantee, that I could give away half of the clothes in my closet and not miss them. It's easier to purge when I have someone help me....

A lot of the problem is that I went to college OOT and then stayed out here for law school, so the stuff that remained at my parents house is OLD. Like I found a few shirts from G+G ... does that store even exist anymore? it's like a predecessor to forever 21
FH said to get rid of it if i havent worn it in a year, but you never know when you might need something

WHOA...G+G! I remember that store...HAHA....Yeah...I think the same thing...what if? From what I'm learning....ya gotta throw it out...if ya need it...you can buy another...white shirt...jacket....whatever....down the line. I read a tip that helps...go through your closet and the clothes you wear weekly...hang with the hanger facing the back of the closet...the ones you don't wear, turn the hanger toward the front...this will give you a better view of what you actually wear and don't wear. I've been doing it once a month since Jan...and I've gotten rid of a lot of clothes that I don't wear...and made new for some stuff I hope to buy soon....Once I lose 10 more lbs!
Edited to fix typo's...

Yup, in fact....I'm doing exactly that. I'm doing a tag sale sort of thing in May and the people who sell there get money for crap, so I'm bringing my clothes, shoes and everything else I do not want to move into our new house. I'm up to garbage bag four already and if you saw my rooms, you'd never know I started lol
My vow is to take ONLY what I will wear with me and donate the rest. I am going 'Back to Work' shopping in August and buying basically a 90% brand-new wardrobe and can't wait!!!!!!!!!

alllll the time.. have a weird rule though... when ever i buy something new over 100 dollars i get rid of something. so if i spent 300 i get rid of 3 things.
every 2-3 years though i go thru it and purge alot!!
