Does anyone else feel this way ever?

Original post by Toucan311

I read a lot of the forums here, but I don't post so much. In the B helping B forum there was a whole thread about how ppl asked their bridesmaids to be in the party, etc. Everyone had such cute ideas. Everyone has such cute ideas about everything. I feel like such a boring, blah, negative person b/c I would never have thought to write poems for my friends asking them to be in the wedding. Does anyone else suffer from an inferiority complex like this? Its really got me down.

awww trust me...i see some awesome creative ideas...but u kno what..every1 is special in their own way....someone has a gift to write a poem and you dont...dont let it get you down...maybe you will do a DIY that will be something that none of us can do..

sometimes i feel like i wish i had more time to be creative..or have what other girls have but then i think...

hey im happy with what me n fh are doin.

i kno how u feel tho. but dont worry...ur not inferior in anyway..

bottom line. we are all brides...getting married. do things the way u want to do them and dont worry about everybody elses thingys

i feel the same way, its just not me to make a huge deal about asking my BMs. But that's just me, i completely enjoy reading about how other people are creating these amazing newsletters and projects for their BMs. i think its a lot of fun and if someone wants to create cookies and t-shirts, thats great and if i were a BM i would be ecstatic to receive something like that. but it would be very awkward if i actually created something like that myself, especially since my BMs arent really going to help me with planning anyways. i will probably make some creative gifts though.

I wouldn't feel down....everyone just has a different style.

For example: My sister knew she would be my MOH from the time we were 5 so...there was no asking there and I think if I did actually ask her, she would have been insulted. BM #1 was on vacation with me when I got engaged and witnessed the whole thing so drunkenly (after celebrating with much Irish Cream) I said 'You are the only one who saw me get engaged you HAVE TO be in my bridal party!' haha. BM#2 I asked on the way to a bridal show while we were eating pizza in my friggin car and I said to her 'I'm trying not to sound like I'm asking you on a date but will you be in my bridal party?' It was funny. BM #3 I asked out-right over the phone because she is long distance, she's the only one who got emotional (but that's a whole other story).

I wouldn't trade any of these 'non-creative' BM-asking experiences because they are like someone said, very much reflective of the kind of relationships I have with them, we are people who joke around alot; I'm sure they would have loved a poem or something but it wouldn't be organic for me to do something like that.

i wouldnt worry about it. this is why sometimes i stay away from this site bc when i see other peoples ideas, i start to feel like i need to do them as well...which is not the case! my friend asked me to be a bm over AIM - no frills. and I was just as happy. That is her style and it may not be mine, but who cares! We're all getting married is the bottom line - and thats what we have in common - no matter what style we get married in.
