I get sensitive when people say no - i feel like they are not coming because they dont like me - but I know that people are busy and it is an OOT wedding for alot of people.

sorry just feeling sad and needed to vent :(

I completely understand. One of my close friends from college RSVP'd no. Shes getting married 4 weeks before me and I'm going to have to travel upstate (a 6 hour drive or a $500 flight-for me and FH +$200 hotel)... and we have a wedding on LI the next day.

I'm hurt that she said no b/c she knows all of the trouble I'm going through for her wedding-I RSVP'd yes to her b/c when I spoke to her she made it sound like she was coming to my wedding. FH wants me to make up an excuse and not go to hers anymore...

i'm only upset because of the fact that some guests who wanted to come could NOT come just because of the st!nkin embassy - they keep gettin denied a visa to come here!

I get sad when people say No and don't write anything or give a reason why.

I completely understand !!! I feel like through this whole thing I am so happy however some people have really made me take a step back and think of how much I have done for them for their wedding and how little they are doing for me!

The best advice I got from my best friend was if you expect people to do for you what you do for them you will be disapponted. I feel like I have spent so much money on my friends bacherolette parties and weddings and they are not giving back in return :(

So i think we need to just enjoy our time and the people who want to be there will!!!!

I feel the same way. I actually get offended when people say no.

Yup, I knew this would be a problem. I take everything personally...especially rejection! So far I know a bunch of people are not coming...and I have been getting super bummed about it. I know its not a personal thing though.

Crashing!

I actually felt the same way when people RSVPed 'no' to my e-party so I can only imagine what I'll feel like for the actual wedding.

Don't worry about it - I'm sure they have a valid reason why they're not coming. Just cheer up and be excited about all the great people who are taking time out of their lives to celebrate your big day! i'm sure there is a lot of them!

i actually rsvp-ed no to a college friend's wedding b/c i just couldn't afford to give a gift. i know that sounds ridiculous, but i was happier knowing that she wouldn't have to expend hundreds on me to be there when i wouldn't be able to give her a gift worthy of my attendance. i still sent her a $100 gift, but still, if i went i would have had to give $300 at least.

I got pissed off when I found out certain people wouldn't be at my shower because I went to theirs etc etc... so I am sure I'll get mad when certain people say no to the wedding.

I think I probably will be upset for a second, but I'll have to remind myself that there's a valid reason. We invited about 140 to my shower, and 80 are coming because they have vacations or had previous commitments. I have to remind myself that it's because they already had something on the agenda, not because they dislike me or anything.

I agree with this but for it depended on who it was. There were some people that said no that I understood. It is the summer and we had to expect that. I had one big surprise NO and it was with no explanation and that did get me upset.

yea it got me upset when people would write no without an explanation... or say they were going on vacation when i sent save the dates out like 9 months prior to the wedding, clearly showing me that even though you know you are invited to my wedding you still went and made vacation plans anyway... obviously i expected nos but there were definitely a few people who said no that really upset me... but oh well, i know it's easier said than done but try not to let it get to you too much

I'm expecting knows but some will hurt me more than others. 3 people actually may not be invited to my wedding if they don't come to my shower and those are 3 that will really bother me.

totally understand how you are feeling. some of DH's family members replied no and he was really hurt. but you know what, in the end we had a great day because everyone else that we care about were with us to celebrate!!
